ORDINARY TIME

“…whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.”

(Matthew 10:38)

Pope Benedict XVI said, “The world offers you comfort. But you were not made for comfort, you were

made for greatness.” “Comfort” puts me first. “Picking up your cross and following Jesus” puts God

and others first. Why settle for comfort when you can achieve greatness! Pick up your cross, ask Jesus

for guidance on using your gifts and live the life God intended for you!

TF197: An Interview with Transitional Deacon Chris Lindenbach

Weeks before his ordination to the Transitional Diaconate, Deacon Eric Gurash had a chance to talk

with Seminarian Chris Lindenbach about his life, his vocation, and this thing we call 'discernment'...

Show Snippet: "They talk about any time you make any sort of commitment you make this big 'yes'

and then that's sustained by all these little yeses. And so the big yes for me was to go to the seminary

and say okay God, if this is where you are calling me to go, as St. Ignatius said, you discern it to the

end whatever that end may be and so for me that big yes was to go down the road not knowing where

it will end but trusting that God will lead me and be with me."

Peace Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace:

Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal

life. AMEN.

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope!

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs,

mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn then O most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy toward us. And after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet

Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the

promises of Christ. ♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins Save us from the fires of hell

Lead all souls to heaven Especially those most in need of thy mercy.
