SUBMITTED SAMPLE ANALYSIS
UMBC researchers and outside users can submit samples for the following services:
FAB unit resolution MS FAB accurate mass measurement and
empirical formula determination. MALDI-TOF ESI or APCI direct infusion ESI or APCI LC-MS with HPLC (reverse and
normal phase) separation GC-MS

SAMPLE SUBMISSION Identify the most suitable
approach which will provide information you are looking for
Become familiar with sample preparation guidelines and make sure that the sample(s) meet the guidelines
Fill out a sample submission form
Deliver samples accompanied by the sample submission form(s).
It is suggested that we receive samples as solid material (just enough to see it) or neat liquid (several ul) for FAB, ESI, APCI. For MALDI-TOF analysis submit ~10 pmol of peptide, protein or oligonucleotide (>100 pmol) dry or in minimal (several µl) volume of solvent.

MS FACILITY RATES
MALDITOF: $55/sample or $130/h
ESI or APCI direct infusion $60/sample or 130/h
ESI or APCI LC-MS separation $100/h
GC-MS $80/h
FAB Lo-Res: $55/sample Hi-Res: $90/sample
Time is rounded to the next hour/no method development
