As internet and email security protocols have become stricter, host email providers, such as Google®, AOL®, Yahoo® and others, mistake the Company’s forwarding system for spam email. As a result of this forwarding process, host email providers sometimes mistakenly return emails as spam, divert the emails to the trash bin or block delivery to the IBC’s personal email address altogether. Depending on the IBC’s email provider, we believe that only 40 to 60 percent of all emails currently sent to @marykay.com email addresses are delivered to IBCs’ personal email accounts.

When do I have to stop using my @marykay.com email address? On October 15, the Company will stop supporting the forwarding system that delivers @marykay.com email addresses to your personal email address.

As with any other party, you may want to know a bit about the guests before they arrive. This is especially true with a skin care party because the more you understand your guests' skin care needs, the more you can give them the personalized attention they deserve.

Talk This Way: Using the Mary Kay sample booking

help you book a party whether you’re talking on the

phone, having a warm chat or sitting right next to

someone sharing the products and help you

communicate with your hostess and her guests.

Introduce Yourself: Once you get the guest list from

your hostess, consider contacting the guests to introduce

yourself. You can also pre-profile them by getting

information about their skin types and concerns using

the Customer Profile as your guide. This can help the

guests get excited about the party because they'll see that

you've taken a personal interest in them and their skin care

needs.

Practice makes perfect: Look over the Beauty Book, which your guests can use at the party to follow your presentation, and the Instructor's Guide, which you can use to lead the class. You can also use the dynamic Mary Kay apps during your party.

Set the Stage for Success: Arrive 30 minutes before the party to re-energize your hostess, confirm the products she wants to earn through hostess credit, provide her customized color look (if this is her follow-up appointment) and ask if she or a guest would be interested in the Mary Kay opportunity.

Set the Table by Skin Types: Consider using the information from your

pre-profiling to group the guests with normal-to-dry skin on one side of the table and combination-to-oily skin on the other, and place a Beauty Book by each mirror. Don't be afraid to be creative!
