We will be meeting at the Cremona Congregational Church at 9:00am, and then carpooling to the Silver Springs Botanical Gardens in Calgary for a tour commencing at 10:30am. New members are always welcome, and can join at any time. Membership is $15/year. Start by creating your own baked clay toadstools and snails, then plant and decorate your very own fairy garden terrarium, complete with glow-in-the-dark stones. Ages 10 and up. Jennifer Koole from the Recycling Council of Alberta will be presenting on the basics of waste and recycling in Alberta. How well is Alberta doing compared to other provinces? Are we diverting more or less than we did in 2014? She will present a broad overview of what materials are in our waste stream and then focus in on how we, as consumers, can do more to reduce the materials ending up in our own garbage cans and how we can work towards a zero waste future. You’ll learn how small changes can have big environmental impacts. Jennifer will also share some preliminary details on the provincial Ag Plastics recycling pilot program coming out this fall. DATE: Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 TIME: 6:30pm—7:30pm COST: FREE Deadline to register: May 31st, 2019 YOGURT MAKING DEMONSTRATION Join Ashley Newsome from It’s All About The Goats to learn how to make your own homemade yogurt.
