IHM PARISH ADORATION NEWSLETTER
June 2017 Volume 6 Issue 2
A Novena of Surrender to the Will of God Don Dolindo Ruotolo, whose cause for Beatification is being promoted by
the Order of The Franciscans of the Immaculate Heart was a Theologian of
the Incarnation of the Word and the Magnificat of Mary. Fr. Dolindo Ru-
otolo was born in Naples, Italy on October 6,1882. Ordained at the young
age of 23 on June 24, 1905, Don Dolindo dedicated every moment of his
long life to prayer and penance at the service of thousands of faithful who
asked for his spiritual direction and turned to him for help and comfort.
The following is guidance from Jesus as related to Father Ruotolo and
translated to English from his writings in Italian.
“How many things I do when the soul, in so much spiritual and
material need, turns to me, looks at me and says to me: ‘You take
care of it,’ then closes its eyes and rests. So few graces you have
when you strive so much to create them; and yet you have so
many when your prayer is full trust in me. In pain you pray for me
to act, but that I act in the away you want… . You are not sick
people who ask the doctor to cure you, but rather sick people
who tell the doctor how to. So do not act this way.”
When you say to Me truly: ‘Thy will be done’, which is the same
as saying: ‘You take care of it’, I will intervene with all of my om-
nipotence, and I will resolve the most difficult situations. You see
evil growing instead of weakening? Do not worry, close your eyes
and say to me with faith: ‘Thy will be done; You take care of it.’ I
say to you that I will take care of it, and that I will intervene as
does a doctor and I will accomplish miracles when they are need-
ed.
The Surrender Prayer
Oh Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care
of everything (10 X)
OUR LORD’S PROMISES ATTACHED TO THE PRAYING OF THE
CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY AS REVEALED TO ST. FAUSTINA
KOWALSKA
1. “The souls that say this chaplet will be embraced by My mercy during their
lifetime and especially at the hour of their death.” (Diary, 754)
2. “When hardened sinners say it, I will fill their souls with peace, and the hour
of their death will be a happy one.” (Diary, 1541)
3. “When they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand be-
tween My Father and the dying person, not as a just Judge but as a merciful
Savior.” (Diary, 1541)
4. “Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death.” (Diary,
687)
5. “Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if
there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once,
he would receive grace from My infinite mercy….I desire to grant unimaginable
graces to those souls who trust in My mercy.” (Diary, 687)
6. “To priests who proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give wondrous power; I
will anoint their words and touch the hearts of those to whom they will
speak.” (Diary, 1521)
7. “The prayer most pleasing to Me is prayer for the conversion for sinners.
Know, my daughter, that this prayer is always heard and answered.” (Diary,
1397)
8. “At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a
brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandon-
ment at the moment of agony….I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a
request of Me in virtue of My Passion.” (Diary, 1320; also, cf. Diary, 1572)
9. “Souls who spread the honor of My mercy…at the hour of death I will not be
a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior.” (Diary, 1075)
10. “I promise that the soul that will venerate this image (of the Divine Mercy)
will not perish.” (Diary, 48)….“The two rays denote Blood and Water….These
two rays issued from the very depths of My tender mercy when My agonized
Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. These rays shield souls from the
wrath of My Father.” (Diary, 299)
11. “I desire that the Feast of Mercy…be solemnly celebrated on the first Sun-
day after Easter….The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Commun-
ion (in a state of grace on this day) shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and
punishment.” (Diary, 699)
12. “Through this chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is
compatible with My will.” (Diary, 1731)

Eucharistic Miracle of Tumaco, Colombia, 1906
On January 30, 1906, on the small island of Tumaco at 10 o’clock
in the morning, the earth shook violently for almost 30 minutes.
All the inhabitants of the village ran to the church and begged the
pastor, Fr. Gerardo Larrondo, to lead a procession with the
Blessed Sacrament. The sea was rising and had already engulfed
part of the beach. It had plunged inland a kilometer and a half and
a mountainous wall of water was building up and threatening to
drown everyone and everything in one gigantic wave Scarcely had
Fr. Larrondo reached the beach with the monstrance in hand
when he advanced courageously to the water edge and as the
wave came rushing in, he calmly raised the Sacred Host and traced
the sign of the cross. It was a moment of tremendous solemnity.
The wave hesitated, paused and backed off. Fr. Larrondo and Fr.
Julian who was with him saw what had transpired, and the people
who were overjoyed cried out “miracle, miracle”. In truth, a force
beyond that of nature prevailed, the mighty wall of water that
threatened to wipe the village Tumaco off the face of the earth
was halted and began to recede and the sea resumed its normal
level. The inhabitants of Tumaco were overcome with overflowing
joy at having been saved from death by the favour of Jesus in the
Blessed Sacrament. Prayers of fervent thanks poured out and the
event became known worldwide.
June is the month of devotion to the Sacred
Heart of Jesus
Devotion to the Sacred Heart began in the Middle Ages. But it was in the seventeenth century, through St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French Visitation nun, who had visions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, that the devotion became widely popular. Our Lord indi-cated to Margaret Mary that He greatly desires for us to respond to His love for us by honoring His Sacred Heart, especially by exposing images of it in our churches and homes. Through Margaret Mary He gave twelve promises to those who practice and pro-mote devotion to His Sacred Heart.
One of the twelve promises given by Our
Blessed Lord to St. Margaret Mary is this: “I will
bless the homes in which the image of my Sacred
Heart shall be exposed and honored.” St. Margaret
Mary said of this promise: “He promised me that
wherever this image should be exposed with a view
to showing it special honor, He would pour forth His
blessings and graces.”
Four Things to Say to Jesus When We Pray
Be sure to say the following little prayers as you go about
your daily duties. They help keep your heart and mind
continually lifted up to God. They can also be used to
help structure your Eucharistic Holy Hours.
I love you. Jesus never tires of hearing you tell Him that you love Him, just as a young man never tires of hearing his fiancé say that she loves him. The language of love is the language of repetition, as the British author Wilkie Col-lins wrote in one of his novels.
I'm sorry. By continually telling Jesus that you are sorry for your sins, you will help heal the wounds that sin has afflicted on His Sacred Heart and help repair the bad ef-fects sin has caused on the world and on yourself.
Thank you. We tend to take our blessings for grant-ed, We consider the good things we have as givens rather than gifts. Continually thanking Jesus helps overcome that tendency. It is also a good practice, especially during Eu-charistic adoration, to count your blessings by composing a litany of things you have to be thankful for.
Please. God knows our needs even before we ask Him, yet He wants us to present them to Him with humble child-like confidence. Archbishop Fulton Sheen pointed out that when we pray we receive blessings that we would other-wise not receive. He said that there are millions and mil-lions of favors hanging from heaven by silken cords. And prayer is the sword that cuts the cords and releases the favors. You should be persistent in prayer like the blind beggar Bartimeus. But your prayers should not be all “gimme this” and “gimme that.” That will make you a bore to Our Lord.
You probably recognize these small prayers as the four kinds of prayer you learned about in catechism class: Pray-er of Adoration; Prayer of Contrition; Prayer of Thanksgiv-ing; and Prayer of Supplication (ACTS). These four simple little sentences come from a teaching sister who used them to help her young pupils remember the four kinds of prayer. They were easier for them to remember than the big words represented by ACTS. Source: Apostolate for Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration

Sister Lucia said: “Our Lady has given
a new importance to the recitation
of the Holy Rosary. There is no prob-
lem, no matter how difficult it is,
whether temporal or above all, spir-
itual, in the personal life of each of
us, of our families, of the families of
the world, or of the religious com-
munities and people of the world
that cannot be solved by the Ro-
sary.” The Call of Fatima.wordpress.com
