Rest In Peace Lina
Despite being homeless for many years, Lina was still a happy woman. She was always smiling, laughing and lending a helping hand even though she had little for herself. She also was constantly singing Christian songs that were on the radio. Her voice would brighten up any mood or situation. While staying at Naomi’s House she overcame her difficult past and started making positive changes in her life. While at Naomi’s House, Lina’s dreams of living in an apartment came true. Through the efforts of Naomi House staff and community partners such as Fresno Housing Authori-ty, and West Care Lina moved into her own apartment. Lina was always appreciated and grateful for everyone’s faith in her. Sadly, while trying to save a puppy Lina was struck and killed by a train. Lina, you will be remembered as a selfless person and a member of our community. May you rest in peace Lina. Naomi’s House and the people who knew you will truly miss you.

One Woman’s StoryMichelle came to Naomi’s House in
2014 to seek services. Michelle, like many other women at Naomi’s House, has many obstacles to success. Michelle, however, is determined to deal with these obstacles and heal from the wounds from the past. When she came to Naomi’s House she was ready to start her life in a positive direction. After struggling for several years because of the consequences of past mistakes, she is now on the path of healing.
To improve her situation, Michelle attends monthly therapy session and peer counseling with her case manager. Little by little Michelle is gaining her self-esteem back and learning that she can be a good mother to her children. Michelle works hard on herself everyday in hopes that she will be reunited with her children. Her goal is to provide a stable environment for her chil-dren and be the source of their inspiration. Naomi’s House is committed to supporting Michelle in her journey of becoming a good mother and a strong woman.
MaryAnn had been with Naomi’s House for 12 years. She started out as a client advocate and in 2005 became the Director of Naomi’s House. In March 2015, MaryAnn with a heavy heart decided to take a position as a Housing Matcher at West Care. While working at Naomi’s House MaryAnn touched the lives of many wom-en. Although we will miss her, we want to congratulate her on her new opportunity. Thank you MaryAnn for your years of dedi-cation and service to Naomi’s House.
