Summer Slump or Summer Jump?
That is the question. The answer is our choice. I Corinthians 15:58 says,
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the
work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
Church family, let’s make this a great summer of worship and service togeth-
er. If you haven’t been as active as you should be then start this month. If
Sunday School attendance has slipped then come on back and fill these rooms with
anxious students desiring the Word. Your Sunday School teacher will love it!
Let’s get radical for Jesus this month! Read your Bible daily and witness to
someone about a relationship they can have with Jesus. Come to church ready to
praise the Lord and sing out. Let’s try to shock Faith with our voices! What a
privilege it is to serve the Lord and worship Him together.
I’m looking forward to preaching through I John on Sunday mornings and
doing a study on Spiritual Gifts on Sunday evenings. VBS kicks off the first week
of June and then we have CentriKid Camp, Middle School Camp, and GA Camp.
Wow! What an exciting month.
It is great to be saved. Don’t forget where the Lord has brought you from
and what He has saved you from. Be renewed and refreshed daily, stay active and
faithful to your church family, and again share Jesus with one somebody this month.
Blessings upon you, church family! I love each one of you.

This is the message which we have
heard from Him and declare to
you, that God is light and in Him
is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:5
As we enter into the month of June, it is hard to believe
that our students have been out of school for almost two weeks
already. This is the first year since we moved to Owen County
that the school year has not ended in June. Of course, my kids are
not complaining about this one bit! They are happy to start enjoy-
ing their school break a little earlier than usual and are looking
forward to a great summer.
I am looking forward a great summer, as well! The sum-
mer schedule for the church is a full one. Here is what we have
coming up:
June 3 – 8 – Vacation Bible School
June 10 – 14 – CentriKid Children’s Camp
June 18 – 22 – Centrifuge Middle School Camp
June 26 – 28 – GA Day Camp
July 2 – 6 – M-Fuge High School Mission Camp
I will be involved in just about every one of those camps
and ministries listed above. I love the opportunities that the sum-
mer gives me to invest in the lives of our students and children.
However, the summer also has the potential to be a very draining
season for me. And I know it has that potential for many people.
There is work to be done. There is grass to be mowed. Perhaps
you are planning a family vacation that is supposed to be relaxing,
but somehow you always come home feeling like you need a vaca-
tion from your vacation.
One of my kids’ favorite summertime activities is swim-
ming. In fact, they have already been swimming during this
school break and have spent time playing in a sprinkler and on a
slip-n-slide. They love the water. There is something refreshing
about water when you are hot and thirsty. There is something re-
juvenating about a cold glass of ice water when you are feeling
drained. It is just so satisfying, although it only lasts for little
while.
Jesus reminds us in John 4:14 that, “whoever drinks of the
water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water
that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling
up to eternal life.” For me, I know that the key to surviving my
busy summer schedule will be to remember to drink deeply from
the living water of Jesus and to allow myself time to get away and
be alone with the Lord. I would encourage you to do the same.
Make time in you busy schedule each day to spend time with Jesus
through His Word and prayer and see the difference it will make in
your outlook on life. Allow Him to fill you up and to refresh your
soul. It will help you to keep going and to not get burned out. I
hope that each of you have a great summer and that you find ways
to serve the Lord during this season!
Blessings,
Bro. Kyle
