A lady was walking down the street when she was a approached by a lady beggar asking for money. The lady took a $20 bill out of her purse and asked “If I give you this money will you spend it on chocolate.” “Don’t be ridiculous” the beggar replied “does it look like I have nothing better to spend money on?” “How about shopping?” she asked. “No,” the beg-gar said, “don’t you understand I need money just to stay alive.” “Will you spend it on your hair?” the
lady asked. Annoyed the beggar replied, “No, I just need money for food and shelter. “In that case” the lady said “I don’t want to just give you money I would like you to eat out with me and my husband tonight.” “Why?” the beggar asked. “Well,”the lady said “I think it’s important for him to see what a lady looks like after she gives up chocolate, shopping and hair ap-pointments.”

Do you know how far the apple in your kitchen traveled before you picked it up at the grocery store? According to the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, apples in American grocery stores
typically travel 1,726 miles before reaching your kitchen! Just think about the fuel needed to transport produce like this across the country or across borders. Also think about the pollution generated by the vehicles carrying this produce. An apple a day may keep the doctor away but the fumes accompanying it will definitely hurt us!
The impact on the environment is one issue, but we also have to worry about preservatives that are used to keep this apple nice and crispy during its very long journey to your grocery store. To keep produce fresh during the long haul across continents and oceans, produce companies have to use chemical preservatives. It is well documented that preservatives are hazardous to human health.
So what can we do? Well, you can try your best to buy local produce whenever possible. Since produce from your local farms are traveling very short distances there is less pollution created in their transport. There is also less packaging and processing involved which also helps to lessen the amount of garbage we put into the environment and ourselves!
It really is enjoyable to mix up your food shopping routine by purchasing your fresh produce and meats at your local farmers’ market. In many cases you can negotiate prices (which is fun). Also fellow shoppers are generally in a happier frame of mind when they’re perusing farmer’s booths than when they’re steering a shopping cart through crowded aisles at the grocery store.
Find out the location of your nearest farmers’ market, note the dates that they are open and plan to be there bright and early to get the freshest, tastiest food choices of the day! Your family will thank you, you’ll be supporting your local economy and helping to save the environment.

“You don’t have to be a wreck. You don’t have to be sick. One’s aim in life should be to die in good health. Just like a candle that burns out”. —Jeanne Moreau
Somehow we have been programmed to think that ill health or pain is a normal occurrence. However, you don’t have to suffer pain or be sick. Our bodies were designed by God so innately and
wonderfully that He created mechanisms for our bodies to heal themselves. But, we have to feed our bodies proper nutrients and care for them as if they are a prized possession that cannot be replaced.
The goal of Entirely Natural, LLC is to educate about health and wellness. The services offered empower clients to understand what their body is trying to tell them. They believe that education is power. With education comes understanding which allows one to take control of their health. They use several modalities to help their clients reach their goals. By looking at the eyes, blood, and nutrition their clients are able to lay a solid foundation for achieving optimal health.
Carol Geeck, ND, Ir has over 27 years in the natural health and wellness field. She is board certified by the National Board of Naturopathic Examiners, is a member of the American Naturopathic Medical Association and has 27 years experience in Iridology, is a member and certified by the International Iridology Practitioners Association, has 23 years working
with healing herbs, 19 years in the field of Aromatherapy, and 20 years working with Live Blood Cell Analysis. She was also one of the founding Doctor’s of the Young Life Research Clinic in Utah and underwent intense study to become a Native American Medicine Women. After numerous surgeries and a breast cancer diagnosis Carol decided it was time to take control of her health…naturally. Her current forms of treatment were only suppressing symptoms rather than
creating wellness. After much research and hard work her breast cancer subsided without radical surgery or months of chemotherapy or radiation. Her goal is now to help others with similar circumstances and educate them to be the one in control of their health.
Julie Smith holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition Science, is an ACE-Certified Personal Trainer, and a Raindrop Facilitator. As someone who was formerly clinically obese she knows the struggles of ill health. Julie has successfully used natural health to maintain her weight loss and overcome certain ailments. She hopes to educate and
help empower others to obtain optimal health. Currently, she is studying Iridology and Live Blood Cell Analysis among other natural modalities. Her long term goal includes becoming a Naturopathic Doctor.
If optimal health is one of your goals Carol and Julie will coach you and teach you about the proper foods to put in your body so you don’t just survive but so that you thrive in today’s ever changing environment.

HEALTHY LIVING
Know About Your Health SupplementsWHY HEALTH SUPPLEMENTS ARE IMPORTANT TO YOUR DIET
People are usually under the impression that the body receives sufficient minerals and vitamins through their diet. However, this is not always true. It is sometimes very important to use health supplements
to compensate on the deficit of vitamins and minerals.
Health supplements can be purchased from the general pharmacy stores or from the many online stores available in the World Wide Web. All you have to do is to choose the health supplement that best suits your vitamin and mineral needs. It is not only the athletes who need health supplements; people suffering from ailments need health supplements to develop a natural immunity and resistance to the ailment. The pregnant woman, lactating woman and senior citizens also need health supplements. Pregnant and lactating women need health supplements to provide themselves and their child with sufficient nutrients. Senior citizens generally reduce their food consumption with age; because of this, the nutrients to the body tends to decrease. Health supplements help to compensate this deficiency.
Health supplements are generally considered to be safe. However, it is always advisable to take health supplements that are approved by the Food and Drug Administration. This helps you to make sure that the health supplements are safe and do not have any side effects. There are some health supplements that are not advised for teens as they are hazardous to them as they have steroids that cause damage to the body. When taking health supplements, watch out for any warning signals or possible side effects such as headache, rashes, stomach discomfort and dizziness. This is because some health supplement may constitute ingredients that may prove to be allergic to some people.
It is important to take health supplements in their stipulated dosage. Taking too much of vitamins and minerals is not advisable. Always consult your physician before starting on any health supplements as there are some health supplements that may affect any medication that you are taking. Some people use energy bars as health supplements. However, though this is good for athletes who burn lots of calories, they can turn out to be additional calories to the average person!
Nowadays, people have become more health conscious and are aware of the benefits of health supplements. Along with health supplements, it is important to have as varied and balanced diet as possible. Remember, health supplements are meant only to act as additional nutrients to the body and not as the only food to the body!

Something for Seniors to Smile AboutENDODONTISTS’ ADVANCED TRAINING
A generation ago, dentures and bridgework were all too common among U.S. seniors. Today, according to a recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Americans are keeping their natural
teeth longer. In part, seniors can thank endodontists, the dentists who specialize in performing root canal treatment and saving natural teeth.
Endodontists’ advanced training and access to cutting-edge technologies allow them to save older teeth that once were considered hopeless. As people age, the canals inside their teeth narrow, making tooth-saving procedures more difficult. Using new technologies, such as ultrasonics and operating microscopes, endodontists can locate even the smallest canals to remove inflamed pulp and nerves and preserve natural teeth. Digital imaging, which is used in place of traditional X-rays to take pictures of teeth, is another tool that significantly increases endodontists’ ability to find the cause of pain in even the narrowest root canal.
“Endodontists are accustomed to working within a very small space,” says Dr. Marc Balson, D.D.S., president of the American Association of Endodontists. “Our background, which includes four years of dental school followed by two to three years of advanced training, allows us to perform root canal treatment efficiently on any patient.”
During root canal treatment, the endodontist removes the inflamed or infected pulp (the soft tissue inside teeth), carefully cleans and shapes the inside of the canal (a channel inside the root), then fills and seals the space. A well done root canal is like a solid foundation in a house - it allows for further restorative work to be done on a tooth with a likelihood of long-term health and stability.
Endodontists’ training also helps them deal with seniors’ special medical needs. The same prescription medications that allow older Americans to lead healthier, more active lives can pose problems when it comes time to undergo dental procedures. Endodontists routinely conduct a thorough assessment of elderly patients’ medical histories in preparation for root canal treatment, so as to avoid harmful drug interactions and safely treat patients with high blood pressure and other chronic conditions.
The most important advantage endodontists offer older patients is experience. On average, endodontists perform 25 root canal treatments each week, while general dentists perform two. This means that seeing an endodontist for root canal treatment is the healthiest way for seniors to avoid dentures, bridgework or artificial implants and preserve their smiles for a lifetime.

The inspiration for the run begins with Haden Kistler. The 11 year old boy was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer in November 2009. Hayden wanted to be a heavy equipment opera-tor, firefighter and pet cop and he had a heart for people in need. When he saw a woman on crutches struggling with Christmas packages, he insisted that he and his mom stop to help. He was fun loving, loved to joke around and had a great sense of humor. At the time he fell ill, he was building a go-cart. He loved his community and school and would often say, “I love it here Mom. I never want to move.” Outlasting the doctor’s prognosis on two occasions, his will and determination were felt by his com-munity and school, who pulled together to cheer him on. Brain cancer didn’t win...Haden’s spirit will forever hold the trophy!

OOPS?!Jerry was in the hospital recovering from surgery when a nurse asks him how he is feeling.
“I’m OK but I didn’t like the four-letter-word the doctor used in surgery,” he answered.
“What did he say,” asked the nurse.“OOPS!”
PHOTOGRAPHERLarry was a photographer for the N.Y. Times, and was scheduled to meet a plane on the runway to take him on a job. “Hit it,” said Larry climbing into the first plane he saw on the runway. The pilot took off, and was soon in the air. “OK,” said Larry, “fly low over the trees over there, I want to take a few pictures.” “What do you mean?” asked the pilot. Larry looked at the pilot and answered a little annoyed, “I need to take some pictures for the N.Y. Times, so please…..” There was a long pause, before the pilot asked in a shaky voice, “you mean you’re not my pilot instructor?”
WHOOPS!Marvin, was in the hospital on his death bed. The family called Marvin’s Preacher to be with him in his final moments. As the Preacher stood by the bed, Marvin’s condition seemed to deteriorate, and Marvin motioned for someone to quickly pass him a pen and paper. The Preacher quickly got a pen and paper and lovingly handed it to Marvin. But before he had a chance to read the note, Marvin died. The Preacher feeling that now wasn’t the right time to read it put the note in his jacket pocket. It was at the funeral while speaking that the Preacher suddenly remembered the note. Reaching deep into his pocket the Preacher said “and you know what, I suddenly remembered that right before Marvin died he handed me a note, and
knowing Marvin I’m sure it was something inspiring that we can all gain from. With that introduction the Preacher ripped out the note and opened it. The note said “HEY, YOU ARE STANDING ON MY OXYGEN TUBE!”
ONE LETTER MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCEAn Illinois man left the snow-filled streets of Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day. When he reached his hotel he decided to send his wife a quick email. Unfortunately, when typing her address, he missed one letter, and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher’s wife whose husband had passed away only the day before. When the grieving widow checked her email, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead faint. At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen: Dearest Wife,Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival tomorrow. P.S. Sure is hot down here.
NO CENTSThere was a man in front of me at the cashier paying his bill. The man handed over a ten for his bill of $9.08. “Do you have 8 cents?” the lady cashier asked. After fishing in his pants the man responded “sorry I have no cents.” “Finally”, she muttered,” a man who can admit it.”
NO SMOKINGA Stewardess upon noticing that someone clearly has been smoking in the bathroom. “I’m sorry sir” she said “but you’re not aloud to smoke on the plane. If you want to smoke again please step out!”
