Today, Sunday, June 18th, we celebrate a unique convergence of ecclesial and secular festivities, universal, local and personal. Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) in the Church. In the secular calendar, we also observe Father’s Day, a day recalling the essential role of the men at the head of their families, caring for their wives and children. This month we also celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of our parish on June 7, 1947, as well as the dedication of the original church on June 18, 1950, and the dedication of the new church on June 12, 1963. Finally, in recent weeks I celebrated the 25th

anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. At Mass today and in the reception that follows the 11:30 am liturgy, all of these celebrations converge in a joyful harmony of liturgy and sacrament, of family and history. The priesthood is ordered to the Eucharist. So, it is especially fitting to celebrate my silver anniversary on Corpus Christi, a day set aside by the Church to highlight the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. The Catholic priesthood is also a vocation of spiritual fatherhood in which the priest is called to care for his parishioners as a father protects and provides for his family. And, in my role as pastor of Our Lady of Grace Parish, I have been charged with teaching, leading and sanctifying the wonderful people of OLG the past 13 years of the 70 years that this parish has been in existence. I have spent more than half of my entire priesthood here at this exceptional parish. I am honored to have been your pastor these many years and am optimistically looking forward to leading our people to the adventure that lies before us On Mission for the Church Alive! Like so many of the suburban parishes after World War II, Our Lady of Grace was established, built and developed in the decades of the “baby boom” in our country. With school expansions in the 1950s, the building of the new church and rectory in the 1960s, the addition of Miller Pavilion in the 1990s followed by the installation of the new organ in the church, and the building of the Marian Grotto completed in 2007 for the 60th anniversary, Our Lady of Grace Parish has grown over the years to accommodate the families who faithfully gather around the Holy Eucharist every Sunday to celebrate the Paschal Mystery of our salvation. Ad multus anus! Fr. Richard A. Infante, Pastor

The priests, parishioners and staff would like to welcome everyone here today

celebrating Mass with us at Our Lady of Grace Parish.
