From our Pastor Dear Folks:
Items for this week:
**Fathers Day: On behalf of the clergy and staff of Saint Mary Magdalen, I would like to wish all dads a, “Happy Father’s Day!” To all dads, living or deceased, thanks for the life that you have given to us families; thanks for the daily hard work that you have embraced to support the fami-ly; and thanks for the good wisdom and insight given to the family. On this special day, may God bless you, keep you, and inspire you. And, to the dads who struggle with this the gift of fatherhood, let us pray for healing, wisdom, and strength to embrace this most noble of vocations!
**30th Anniversary Celebration: I want to thank all for the very nice celebration of my 30th anniversary as a Priest:
~The Mass was wonderful; of course, Monsignor’s homily was spot on and to have Bishop Rice’s presence was a true gift. The music (thanks Jerry and Sarah Dorhauer) and the decorations were wonderful (thanks Peggy Tenholder and Claudia Huston). Thanks to all the ministers!
~And, the celebration after Mass in the gym was just great! Thanks to Matt and Molly Hodge and the group that put that celebration together.
~And, to the office staff that put this night together, thanks for the hard work done behind the scenes.
~And to all of you. I quote this line from Monsignor all the time but it is your faith that inspires us clergy!
~Thanks to all for the kind words, the gifts, and the support. To quote the legendary Jack Buck, “Lord…why have you been so good to me?” I just pray that my response to the gift of the Priesthood is harder and harder work to feed the faith and to be a leader for the Church’s beautiful doctrines and beliefs; and I pray to follow the Sacred Heart of Jesus as best I can. And, thanks to my family for coming. My parents love coming here to Mass.
**Church Exterior Doors: You may have noticed that the exterior Church doors are being refinished. This needed to be done as the doors were really wearing down with the harsh St. Louis weather; and those beautiful wooden doors would be expensive to replace. What needs to be done every 2 years is preventative maintenance on them to keep them looking good.
**St. Louis Seminarian: Saint Mary Magdalen will be hosting a seminarian over the sum-mer; his name is Gregory Cleaver and he is from Saint Joseph’s Parish in Cottleville. He will be in residence at the rectory over the summer; his responsibilities will be with Kenrick-Glennon Semi-nary. He has no responsibilities to the parish; and, the seminary wants these young men to be in parishes as much as possible to understand what rectory living is like. Welcome, Gregory; it is good to have you here. And, I want the parish to know that the seminary is very particular where seminar-ians are sent. The goal is to have a meaningful experience at a thriving parish; Saint Mary Magdalen fits that nicely!
**Eagle Scout Awards: Zander Haddad, Jack Williams, and Sam Williams all received their Eagle Scout Awards this past Sunday. To get that Eagle Scout Award is an amazing achieve-ment. Congratulations to them and to their parents.
Have a good week!
Father Jack

Stewardship Reflection June 16, 2019
The Most Holy Trinity
“But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth…” (John 16:13)
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to help us know and live the truth. To prepare ourselves, we need to open our hearts to receive this gift before we can give it. Develop a daily prayer routine. Talk and
listed to the Holy Spirit. This is best done in silence, when we can hear His response.
