*Call to Worship

God, how majestic is your name in all the earth.

Your glory surrounds and enfolds us.

Your image resides within us and completes us.

You made us but a little lower than the angels.

How majestic is your name in all the earth.

Come, let us worship together all who would seek the Lord today.

*Singing Our Faith # 64 “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty”

Morning Prayer

God of grace and glory, who are we that you are mindful of us? You sustain us through the gift of your indwelling Presence, yet we turn from you again and again, and succumb to feelings of inadequacy and despair. We turn from communion with you and with one another, even though it is only in community that we have the strength to endure the mystery of your glory and weight of our failings. Claim us anew as your beloved children, and we will be healed. Amen.

The Great Thanksgiving

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Taking the Bread and the Cup

Prayer after Communion

Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. We honor you as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Stewardship Thought The creation text from Genesis is one of the Bible's ultimate stewardship stories! It provides a beautiful and orderly account of God's miraculous creation project: "In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters." Beginning with nothing, God shapes the universe, calls it into being, and establishes a delicate and interconnected framework. Piece by piece it comes into being and God proclaims it "Good." What could possibly go wrong? Along about day 6, after the sea monsters, cattle, and creeping things were all up and running, God made human beings - created in God's own image - and gave them their identity: stewards. They were created to care for creation.

How are you wearing this image: steward of creation? In what ways do you feel most faithful? Where would you like to place a stronger focus on this calling? God's words when resting from creation should be our daily prayer, "It is good." Look for ways to embrace the good in your life as you seek to live as a faithful steward.
