EXTREME BLUE DAY
Parents are welcome to attend!
Come join in on the fun!
This Wednesday in
honor of our Jump
Rope for Heart
Event we will be
showing our Spirit
by wearing
EXTREME BLUE.
Tuesday, we celebrate the birth and legacy of American civil rights activ-
ist Cesar Chavez. Chavez helped organize and lead successful boycotts
and was a champion of nonviolent protest. Chavez
was a firm believer in education and
self-determination. He was quoted
as saying, “Students should have
initiative; not just be imitators.
They must learn to think and act for
themselves—and be free.”
Speaking of initiative and free thinking, this weekend,
Hawkins sent its 4th-6th grade Science Olympiad team
to McNair High School in Stockton.
Our team did an amazing job and received many awards
in the events in which they participated! Definitely not
imitators, our Hawkins students were imaginative, crea-
tive and resourceful in their various events!
This week, our campus will be joining together for an
exciting event called Jump Rope for Heart. Students are
encouraged to wear EXTREME blue for the day. I hope
everybody participates in the fun cause and meets our
school goals. In the inspiring words of Cesar Chavez - Si, se puede - Yes,
it can be done!
