A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN July is coming to a close as I write this piece. The new residents have made a posi9ve impact in their first month. Many of us have had much needed vaca9ons including my family. Unfortunately the nightly news has been dominated by tragedies like the one in Norway, the one involving inability of US leadership to solve the debt ceiling and the severe heat wave. A liDle depressing when the only good news for some of us was that overpaid athletes and billionaire owners could agree to allow the NFL season to occur.
While at our place in Tennessee I went to the Saturday Farmers market. Representa9ves of FEMA had a booth since this area in Tennessee had been hit by tornadoes at the end of April. I picked up some good informa9on on preparing families for event like hurricanes. I would urge you to take a few moments and go to the FEMA website hDp://www.fema.gov/ where a lot of good informa9on is available. For anyone new to Florida the next couple months is the normal high hurricane season. While I hope Tampa Bay area con9nues to be spared beDer to be prepared.
