Second, the disputed land was retrieved which was pleaded by 233 people in High court. Third, a new road has been planned from Khushkhera to Kasola Chowk on NH8, which will reduce the total distance by 18 kms approximately. Bhiwadi: As a response to the opportunities in the Indian Market, Saint- Gobain Glass India (SGGI) had decided to augment its presence in India with further investments. The new Investment of ` 1000 crore was planned at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, out of which 60% of the investment has already been done in erecting the project, about 65 km from Delhi. The company had signed an agreement to establish a unit here with the state government on August 19, 2008. The daily production would cover an area of more than 10 lacs sq feet of area. This will make it one of the world's largest float glass plants. As said by Mr. Matthieu Jourdier - the Project Head of Kehrani, Bhiwadi unit - “Most of the work has been completed here. The project has been erected & will be operational soon hopefully if everything goes well by the end of 2012”. He also added “if the monsoon or any other unavoidable situation comes then most likely it will be operational by the end of the 1st quarter of 2013.” Under the agreement signed between the state government and Saint Gobain, the project will provide employment to thousands of direct & indirect employees, out of which 65-70% of the employees will be from Rajasthan. It is also planned that the first phase will be followed with investments in other facilities so as to equip SGGI in providing end-to-end solutions to the Architectural, Automotive and Solar industries. SGGI has also planned another raw material unit in Alwar which will support the main plant to provide the important raw material. Silica Sand - 60% of the raw material that is required to manufacture the glass will be processed at this unit. Mr. T. K . Chakraborty, Head - Operations said “RIICO government was a great support and helped us to resolve the various issues like land etc”. He also added, “This location is chosen with the idea of catering to the fast growing North-West corridor between Delhi and Mumbai. Flash mob performed by Utsav Bhiwadi elderly (Residents) of at Select City Walk Bhiwadi’s seniors citizens created quite a stir recently. On April 6, 2012, the seniors proved to the world that there is life after 55 and you can celebrate it every day of your life. Bhiwadi seniors, who reside in Ashiana Utsav traveled all the way to Saket in South Delhi to participate in an event that will be remembered for long. They enacted the country’s first All-Senior flash mob at SELECT CITYWALK, New Delhi. The atrium was full of afternoon shoppers when suddenly the music started to blare and elderly couples trickled-in to join the flash mob - having to rely on walkers did not get in the way for at least two of them. Weak knees and walking sticks were left behind when it came to dancing on retro numbers like ‘We will we will Rock you’ and ‘Stayin Alive’. Over 50 retired senior citizens from different cultures, religions and professions like army, banking, administration etc. presented a mesmerizing scene with their well rehearsed synchronized dancing. They proved that at an age when most people are not able to walk, the Bhiwadi senior citizens can jive with some electrifying steps in public. The motto was only one, “Celebrating Life”. On the 7th April 2012 BDI Sunshine city, Bhiwadi; that is already home to 600+ happy families witnessed a gala time that surely comes once in a lifetime. The ‘Sunshine Carnival’ was slated to mark the acknowledged completion & possessions of Sunshine City's first phase & also manifest the flourishing creation of its’ final segment. From glitzy events to rejoicing activities, the occasion was so planned & organized such that BDI along with the Sunshine folks could rejoice the amity of being one big family & living a day of absolute delight. The chief guest for the evening was Mr. Aimaduddin Ahmad 'DuruMiyan', Honorable Minister for Medical & Health, Family Welfare Ayurveda & Health Education, Govt. of Rajasthan. The evening was taken ahead by singers Piyush Kapoor & Niti Mohan a member of music maestro A.R Rahman’s live shows.
