From the President

Hello fellow Polka Lovers Klub Members,

As You know the continued success of our Polka Klub depends

upon you the members to attend as many dances as possible,

so as to financially support the Klub. (and of course to main-

tain a healthy and happy lifestyle.)

It is my understanding that we are the only Klub in the nation that continues

to dance to a live band weekly. The future of our club depends upon you.

At the front desk you will find passes Which will admit individuals who have

not been to one of our dances before. I would encourage you to pick up as

many passes as you wish and pass them out to your friends, acquaintances,

fellow church members, and other organizations to which you might belong.

Our future depends upon the addition of new members and younger members.

Thank you again for your support as always. Keep Dancing, Sincerely,

Leo Gross your president

To the Polka Lovers Klub of America Colorado Chapter

We are very grateful for your thoughtful support of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Your gift of $50.00 received on April 16, 2018 in memory of Mr. Gerald W. Marty

Is really appreciated. Your contribution helps us provide crucial care and support

To individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Thank You for your support and commitment to this important cause.

A Little Something About My Sisters: Sisters are always part of your memories, your thoughts and they can see right though any disguise you may put on. Your Sisters are an eternal part of your life, your soul, and your heart. They forever share your secrets, your dreams and your laughter and they are wiping away as many tears as you shed. Your Sisters will whisper and borrow things and sometimes get angry. They also give you courage to learn the many chal- lenges of life. Sisters never come and go. They are unique, always there forever friends and their friendship never ends. They love you till the end of time and forever through your lifetime. Thank the Good Lord for letting me have all nine of them.

WANTED Autobiography’s for upcoming newsletters

An autobiography is the story of your own life. Even if you think you don’t have much to include in your memoir, you can sill make it quite interesting. Keep it to one page, font size 14, plenty of space making it easy to read and not to lengthy. A very nice picture showing who you are.

From Janet Staples

The Average temperature in June for the Front Range

is 82 Boulder, 81 Denver, with 84 in Trinidad. The low

is 51 Boulder, 53 Denver and 53 Trinidad-so, it doesn’t

just seem to be hotter this year, it is!

It’s no wonder that I’m experiencing “issues” with my new hobby-Tower Gardens, if you are

interested I have several photos on my Facebook page and great examples at-

www.FaceBook.com/HeinenDistribution

To tell the story I’m going to start at the beginning, Steve, that dude I married back on

Valentines Day; Well he built me a super-duper greenhouse that is attached to the shed,

which he had to build first. Being a “Vegan,” albeit a cheating one, I decided to grow my

veggies using this new “hydroponics” system. Basically, instead of planting seeds in the soil,

I plant the seeds in “rock wool,” and once the seeds have germinated, I put the seedlings in a

“cup,” which goes into a tower……….confused, check out the pictures.

These towers have a reservoir at the bottom, with a small water pump to push the water to

the top, which then drips down the inside, watering the “rock wool,” which keeps the water

and nutrients on the roots of the plants.

It’s not as “simple” as that, but with the minerals and the water kept at the correct “acidity”

levels, the plants not only grow like weeds, they taste so much better.

Of course, anyone interested in this process I give “tours and lectures” but it’ll cost you. The

price is high—listening to me rant and rave about the benefits of home grown veggies and

being a vegan.

OK, so having an intense desire for knowledge about using food as a cure, or medicines for

what ails you, not to mention my devote quest to make every pharmaceutical company

obsolete, I was researching our requirements or needs for Minerals, Vitamins, Amino Acids

and Fatty Acids-my source is Dr. Joel Wallach & Dr. Peter Glidden, both have YouTube Chan-

nels, and make excellent arguments that all these necessities are pretty much gone from our

soils. But I am putting them (60 Minerals, 16 Vitamins, 12 Amino Acids & 3 Fatty Acids) in my

towers; my veggies are growing, as I said, like weeds.

Continued from previous page

I am growing mixed lettuce, baby spinach, cucumbers, peas, and tomatoes, not to forget strawberries. I do have some challenges with this growing method-the cucumbers, peas and tomato plants a growing prolifically, but no fruit-that I just do not understand. Gardeners, hints would be greatly appreciated. The strawberries are growing the same, with a “small” amount of fruit, but the lettuce and spinach; I have it coming out of my ears.

It’s no secret That I am not working for anyone else, just myself as of June 9th, 2018, and have started a new company –assisting entrepreneurs with their “on line presence." That means making sure that they are “visible “ on the internet with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and also that their websites can be seen at the “top” of the “google” searches.

I’m taking classes, learning this new strange world, so check out my new Facebook page (www.facbook,com/janet.staples.967), and my new website (http://js45689.juiceplus.com) -and the websites I have help set up with my husband –Steve. www.NoxBlending.com.

Keep an eye out for the changes being made to the Polka Club, www.DenverPolka.com, and our 2 Facebook pages - www.Facebook.com/DenverPolka/ & www.Facebook.com/Polka-Lovers-Klub-of-America-Colorado-Chapter-387326951448192/, not to mention the emails I’ll start sending out to in-form you of upcoming events and items you should be aware of……..

YouTube.com is a great place to learn about all kinds of things. Example:-how to do the “Cowboy Cha Cha.” Go to YouTube.com, in the search bar, type in “learn the cowboy Cha Cha,” and up pops a plethora of different video instruction sessions.
