Dear Chapelites, I love roller coasters, and the front seat is my favorite. The top of the first hill gives an amazing rush, as the coaster momentarily pauses. With my hands in the air, I stare straight down into the precipice in front of me. The adrenalin rush tells me this is dangerous and thrilling. My brain tells me as long as I follow proper procedures, the ride is total- ly safe. After exceeding the posted speed limit–after hills, dips, loops, and turns, we coast into the station. I want to take another lap, but I know I have to get out so someone else can take a turn. I love reopening chapel. The coolest place to sit is in your car–or in the front pew of the church. The adrenaline rush of getting together with Christian friends is incredible. Like the first coaster hill, coming together for the first time was like staring down into a precipice. My brain tells me to be cautious because of the warnings about Covid, but my brain also tells me that as long as we follow proper procedures, church will be totally safe. When we first gathered for Drive-in Worship, I stared down into the precipice of technology. I’m proud of our volun- teer team for learning new things. We learned how to upload services to YouTube, how to broadcast on FM, how to live stream on YouTube, and how to control sound in the parking lot from the sanctuary. Although we practiced be- forehand, I wondered if it would really work on Sunday. There have been glitches, but as we end each Sunday, we know that we are ready to take another lap. As we have pressed beyond the limits of our aging technology, our technical team is more aware of needed upgrades. As a church family, we will stare down into the precipice of giv- ing for that. When we first came indoors, I stared down into the precipice of health and safety. While we instituted mitigation pro- cedures, our biggest mitigation is your self-evaluation and honesty. If you or someone in your household is sick, please stay home or worship outside. Gathering together, we enjoy fellowship accented with air handshakes and air hugs. We love the music, the singing, the praise. We find blessing as we pray together. It has been good to look into the Word face to face. Each Sunday, I am ready to get back on the Liberty Coaster for another ride. Are you ready for another ride? We will restart Sunday School, July 5. While I am confident that we will be safe, I again stare down into the precipice of health and safety. Pray with me, that God will continue to place a hedge of protection around Liberty Chapel. Until the end of June, we will continue with our 9:00 outside worship and 10:30 inside worship. The 10:30 service will be live streamed on YouTube for you to worship live or later. Both services are available on FM 90.5 if you are on the church property. In July, our Sunday schedule will change to 8:15 outside worship, 9:15 Sunday School, and 10:30 inside worship– our pre-shutdown schedule. The 10:30 service will be live streamed on YouTube for you to worship live or later. http://youtube.com/c/libertychapellc Both services will be available on FM 90.5 if you are on the church property. We cannot stress enough, if you or someone in your household has a fever or if you are not feeling well, please do not come to inside worship or Sunday School. We love you, and we will pray for you. Our ability to meet in person depends on the trust we have for one another. Some of us are ready to come to Sunday School and inside worship. Some of us are not ready yet. Some of us will not be ready until a vaccine is developed. There is no pressure from anyone. We want to create options. July 2020

Dear Chapelites,

I love roller coasters, and the front seat is my favorite. The top of the first hill gives an amazing rush, as the coaster momentarily pauses. With my hands in the air, I stare straight down into the precipice in front of me. The adrenalin rush tells me this is dangerous and thrilling. My brain tells me as long as I follow proper procedures, the ride is total-ly safe.

I’m proud of our volun-teer team for learning new things. We learned how to upload services to YouTube, how to broadcast on FM, how to live stream on YouTube, and how to control sound in the parking lot from the sanctuary. Although we practiced be-forehand, I wondered if it would really work on Sunday. There have been glitches, but as we end each Sunday, we know that we are ready to take another lap. As we have pressed beyond the limits of our aging technology, our technical team is more aware of needed upgrades. As a church family, we will stare down into the precipice of giv-ing for that.

When we first came indoors, I stared down into the precipice of health and safety. While we instituted mitigation pro-cedures, our biggest mitigation is your self-evaluation and honesty.

In July, our Sunday schedule will change to 8:15 outside worship, 9:15 Sunday School, and 10:30 inside worship–our pre-shutdown schedule.

Choose which option is best for you and your family. If you are in a higher risk category–over the age of 65 or with an underlying health condition, you may need to worship outside or at home.

The church will continue to do its part in mitigation practices. Each person must take personal responsibility. Be aware of risks you are taking in gathering together anywhere. Everyone must choose what is right for them and their family.

As we reopen Chapel, we trust one another to make wise decisions to mitigate risk. We also continue to trust God to protect us, to guide us, and to bless us.

While my brain tells me to be cautious because of warnings about Covid, it also tells me that as long as we fol-low proper procedures, church will be safe. As we reopen, my faith says that God will protect us.

See you Sunday,

And keep your arms and legs inside the ride until it comes to a full and complete stop.

Pastor Brad

Sunday Morning Worship Schedule

Option 1: Drive-in/Outside Worship. (9:00 am in June - 8:15 am in July)

Worship leaders will set up near the propane tank. Park in that area, and you can worship in your car. Or worship on the lawn with a blanket or a bag chair and an FM radio. Tune your FM radio to 90.5. Our broadcast range is lim-ited so you need to be on the church property to hear. In case of rain, the worship leaders will move back to the porch.

Option 2: Worship Inside at 10:30 am.

Seating will be in every other pew at each end. There will also be additional seating and TV screens in the fellow-ship hall and the welcome center.

While no nursery will be available, parents with small children can stay with them in the family room. The worship service will be on the TV there.

Masks are not required, but you are welcome to wear one for the protection of others.

At 10:30, you can sit in the church yard or in your car and listen on the radio–FM 90.5.

Option 3: Worship online Live or Later.

We will Live Stream the service on YouTube at 10:30 am. Liberty Chapel’s YouTube channel is http://youtube.com/c/libertychapellc

Page 3: July 2020 Chapel Chatter...Dear Chapelites, I love roller coasters, and the front seat is my favorite. The top of the first hill gives an amazing rush, as the coaster momentarily pauses

Live Stream means that you can watch the service on your computer or mobile device live. The service will remain on YouTube so you can watch it later.

Each week, there are many views. Some watch live, others watch later on Sunday, and quite a few watch during the week. Thank you for worshiping with us. We plan to keep this option after normal life returns.

Sunday School Reopening (9:15 am in July)

Sunday School for all ages will begin Sunday, July 5 at 9:15. There will be a few changes to follow in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Your classroom may change places more than once. Our initial classroom plan will follow. Please understand we need everyone to be flexible during this new season.

When you enter the welcome center, a map will direct you to your classroom and signs will be on the doors.

Move up Sunday will be July 5, so students will be in classrooms according to the grade they will enter in the Fall.

Children, sixth grade and younger, will need to be escorted to and picked up from their classes by a parent or the adult who brought them. If you need assistance, please let someone know.

Nursery will be provided for the Sunday School hour only. Parents and adults who bring children will take turns watching the children while other parents go to class. A schedule will be setup when we know who the regulars are.

If your child or any member of your household is ill, please stay home or come to the drive in service.

Adult classes may want to offer a Zoom option for those unable to attend in person.

We will be having VBS this summer!!!! July 26th –30th. It will be just Chapel kids, kindergarten—6th grade. Groups will be based on the grade each child is going into (which will be the same students in their Sunday School class), so we will be able to keep class sizes down. With that means, we need some volunteers!!!! I will not be passing around a clip board but here are the leaders that are needed: Group leaders: Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades, 3rd & 4th grades, 5th & 6th grades. Two actors Games station leader Kid Vid Cinema leader Bible stories leader Help building our set Please let me know if you are interested in helping out! Thanks, Kara

It has been fun getting to know the students of Liberty Chapel after first meeting them through Zoom meetings and now for the past three June meetings, with summer program-ing, at the church. As this is an unprecedented year, that doesn’t seem to stop this great group of students from wanting to connect with each other and planning some great hap-penings over the 2020 summer. It’s exciting to hear and see laughter, outdoor/indoor games, Bible lessons, and fellowship surrounding the church once again.

Sunday School will be starting back up July 5th. We will not be meeting in the youth room, however Jr./Sr. high will meet in the church library.

Our next upcoming Wednesday Night meetings will be July 8th and July 22nd from 7-8:30pm. We are also planning a service project at Camp Wide Water for a July Sunday af-ternoon. Details for the Wide Water service project are coming soon.

Blessings,

Phil
