Shamrock Energy Solutions has continued to grow and succeed due to the dedication, hard work and skill of our employees, and we want to showcase our outstanding people for their accomplishments. The ROCK Award program has been

established to recognize an employee for achievement above and beyond what is ordinarily expected.

Each quarter any employee may nominate another employee for the ROCK Award. The nominee must have shown outstanding achievement in one of the following categories during that quarter:

einforcing Shamrock’s Corporate Safety Policy

utclassing Others in Work Performance

ommandeering a Team Effort to a Successful Outcome

proactive approach to safety is always the goal of a great safety program. At Shamrock we make every effort to trend data and be as proactive as possible in order to reduce risk to our employees and

business operations. One trend that we are currently seeing - not only in our organization, but in the industry as a whole - is strains and sprains. Strains and sprains can be avoided in several ways at home and at work:

T R O Y G R A N I E R - H S E D I R E C T O R

Nominations can be submitted anytime within the quarter to [email protected] with the following information: nominated employee’s name, date/dates of occurrence and a brief description of the act or event that warrants recognition. At the end of each quarter, the STRIVE Committee will meet and select the recipient of the ROCK Award from the nominations received throughout the quarter. The STRIVE Committee is comprised of 6 leaders within our organization who represent each business unit at Shamrock (STRIVE Committee members are exempt from receiving the ROCK Award). During the following quarter, the awardee will be presented with the ROCK Award, a gift card and will be featured in the following quarter Rock Report newsletter.

Feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 985-655-4745 with any questions.

Stretch those muscles! Before starting your day remember to loosen your muscles with light stretching. This aids in blood flow to major muscles and reduces the likelihood of injury

Dress for success! Shoes with worn soles can cause slip/trip hazards. It can also cause increased pressure to joints. Inspect all protective clothing before donning for use.

Hydrate! Your muscles need to stay hydrated to prevent cramping and injury.

Housekeeping! A clean work area is a safe work area. Ensure there are no trip/slip hazards that exist.

Use the handrails! To ensure your safety, use the provided hand rails when ascending and descending stairs. Complete the ascent or descent. Once your feet are safely at the landing, make your next move. Trying to turn right or left before completing the process increases the potential for injury.

Report all injuries! With the proper care and treatment, minor sprains and strains can heal easily and not progress to more serious injuries. Even injuries at home need to be reported to ensure you are fit for duty before returning to work.

hamrock electrician, Jerry King recently performed a 4160 VAC high voltage switchgear inspection and cleaning on a platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

During the inspection he found several spots of insulation breakdown, as well as areas on the cable with possible corona discharge. Jerry was able to reinsulate the wiring to prevent further issues from occurring. In addition, he also gave the customer a list of recommended repairs for safety equipment that was damaged, not on hand or was in need of certification. Thank you Jerry for your hard work in the successful completion of this project!

t the start of 2016 we made revisions to our Behavior Based Safety

Management (BBSM) process and asked for help in naming it. We received

several entries and a committee selected a winner. Congratulations to

Tony Hebert for his winning entry:

SAPP - Shamrock Accident Prevention Process

Behavior Based Safety Management is a process by which samples of behaviors are

taken to identify potential hazards, reinforce safe behaviors and to coach improvement

of at risk behaviors. SAPP will be a hands-on approach to safety and will prevent

incident and injury through peer to peer intervention. This will be a “no name-no blame”

process that aids in developing and strengthening our safety culture through open

discussion. We will utilize information gleaned from observations to proactively

prevent injury, focus on areas of improvement and implement action plans that will

ultimately make Shamrock Energy Solutions a safer company.

LIVING QUARTERS INSTALLATIONB A R T B E R G E R O N - P O W E R G E N E R A T I O N M A N A G E R

hamrock’s Electrical Services team recently

partnered with a customer on a project to install

living quarters on a platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

We assisted with completely disconnecting all electrical

equipment on the temporary living quarters and then

removing the temporary quarters from the platform. Our

team also electrically hooked up and installed crew camps

for the construction personnel involved in this project.

Utilizing a Derrick Barge, permanent living quarters were

attached and installed on the platform, and Shamrock

reconnected all electrical equipment.
