The year is 1958, and the much-adored rock and roll idol -Conrad Birdie - has been drafted into the US Army. Hissongwriter and agent, Albert Peterson, along with Albert'ssecretary and girlfriend Rose Alvarez have created abrilliant plan for a huge send off. They're going to haveConrad sing his latest song "One Last Kiss" on the EdSullivan show, AND actually give one last kiss toKim MacAfee, President of the Conrad Birdie Fan Club inSweet Apple, Ohio. Abstract art uses a visual language of shape, form, color, line and texture to create acomposition which may exist with a degree ofindependence from visual references in theworld. Abstraction is creating the idea of whatthe artist wants to explain in his/her own artisticway. Artwork which takes liberties, altering forinstance color and form in ways that areconspicuous, can be said to be partiallyabstract. Total abstraction bears no trace of any

reference to anything recognizable. In this workshop, the artist will determinehow abstract he/she would like to be. Participants should bring their ownwatercolor supplies as well as colorful photographs or pictures cut frommagazines as inspiration for what they might want to create in abstract form. Some previous experience with watercolor is required.
