Brethren,
The Brothers of JDH welcome you all to our Lodge. We look forward to do-
ing whatever it takes to ensure your visit is a pleasurable one. Hopefully every-
one had a happy and safe Independence Day celebration. It is also hoped that we
took the time out to give thoughts and thanks to the many past and present ser-
vicemen and women who sacrificed for the purpose of preserving the democratic
ideals formulated by the Nations founders.
To North Star Lodge #405(?), I say welcome to the 33rd District. On behalf

side and said her husband had started
behaving very strangely since joining. I
enquired in what way? "He locks him-

talk to lodge, and asked him how he was
getting on. "Oh fine was his reply." I
asked him about his behavior and if there

Masonic Education Just and Upright.
A phrase used to denominate an Entered Apprentice as he stands in the
Northeast Corner of his lodge.
"Just" here means "complete, perfect" as a lodge is "just" when it has
the required number of brethren present to open and work.
"Upright" refers to character rather than posture, although the cringing
bent head of the slave before the Master is apparently the inspiration
for applying a contrary definition to a Mason.

My Brothers,
Having just returned from our Grand lodge Communication I cannot express suffi-
ciently how proud I am to be part of the amazing 33rd. District; we have some out-
standing brothers who truly represent what Masonry is all about.
There are so many brothers to congratulate, but not wanting to create a laundry list,
let me just mention a few notables. R:.W:. Mike Binder was awarded, among other
things, Mason of the Year; R:.W:. Joe DeStefano was appointed D.D.G.M., W:.M:.
Phil Dixon, Junior Steward, Br. Ken Paulsen and Senior Warden, Br. Jason Goldman
were awarded Gold Cards, Br. Ken also came third in the EA Masonic lecture competi-
tion. R:.W:. Albert McDonald gave an arousing and heartfelt Grand Oration, which
was without doubt one of the more memorable Orations given in recent years, and re-
ceived an accolade befitting its most excellent content and delivery. R:.H:. Troy
(Tracy) Porter was re-appointed District Instructor, R:.W:. Mike Maher was appointed
Worshipful Grand Pursuivant and W:. Bob Holland was appointed to the Board of
Trustees of The Masonic Home of Florida.
Congratulations to our brothers of North Star Lodge, U.D., who received approval
to be chartered, and will be put to work by our Grand Master on June 29th. 2011.
My personal thanks go to the many brothers that so ably and willingly stepped in to
help with the organization and running of the hospitality suite after I was suddenly
called out of town both before and after the communication. There are so many to
thank, but special mention must go to W:. Flemke, W:. Maturse, W:.M:. Gibson & Br.
Bogner who not only did all the running around to purchase the drinks and snacks, but
spent many hours ―tending bar‖ as well. I’m sure there are many brothers who I have
forgotten to single out, so I apologize to them for my memory loss.
We were honored to have many past and present Grand Line Officers attend the
D.D.G.M. double roast. Both R:. W:. Wallace Fine and R:.W:. Bob Gentry were suita-
bly roasted, and, needless to say, we had a lot of fun doing so. Our thanks must go to
R:.W:. Al McDonald and W:.M:. Phil Dixon for all their effort they put into the event.
We welcome our newly appointed D.D.G.M. R:.W:. Joe DeStefano to his new post,
and wish him every success, I look forward to working with him.
We now must look forward to the remainder of the year. Our next major event, the
Magic Children’s Fund Banquet which is to be held at Diamantees Banqueting suite on
September 10th. 2011. It has already been launched by R:.W:. Al McDonald, however
he is in need of several volunteers to assist him in making this year’s event the most
successful yet. Please consider offering your help.
Some Lodges are going dark for the month of August, but M & W never closes! So
please ensure your attendance at our August 31st. Meeting.

we are at the start of a new year. Grand Lodge was a fun time for all except for
those who proposed legislation, as the majority of it was voted down. Our roast of
the two District Deputy Grand Masters Wally and Bob was a huge success and a lot
of fun.
Thank you to all the Brothers and Officers of Masters and Wardens who spon-
sored and coordinated our hospitality room. It was a fun time and I enjoyed being
with all of you before Grand Lodge Installation.
For those of you who do not know Worshipful Ricky Montero is leaving us to live
in Europe, on behalf of the Mighty 33rd Masonic District and all his Brethren we
wish you well Worshipful Ricky.

My Brothers of the 33rd District,
I am excited and honored to have been appointed District Instructor for
another year. This year I have set forth a list of goals that I would love to see
them come to fruition. There are many brothers of this district that have
worked hard and have achieved various
Proficiency Card, well I am sorry to say
that many of them need to be renewed .
I will be getting in touch with all the
brothers that have expired cards and I
would love to get together and review
your proficiency so all these cards can
be updated. Right now there is a fever
funning through the state and the Grand
Lodge has be getting numerous request
for new proficiency cards from the vari-
ous District Instructors in the state. I feel
comfortable that you brothers will step
up to the challenge and review your
memorized ritual work and contact my-
self or R:.W:. Al MacDonald to review
your work. There are many other goals
that I have set forth for the ensuing year
such as putting together a district degree team that will be able to compete at
the next Grand Lodge and also travel throughout the district and put on some
degrees for the different Lodges. I would also like to see us put on a District
Outdoor Degree when it cools off. I think we can all come together and make
it happen. Remember, we have been charged as brothers, ― Who best can work
and best agree‖.
