Teaching Experience

Ballet Memphis 2012-Present

• Teaching Artist in Community Engagement and Outreach Programs- Teaching creative movement to community center after-school care groups and summer camps in underserved communities in Memphis.

• Choreography Composition- Teaching the advanced students improvisation techniques, concepts in dance theory, tools to guide them in creating their own choreography, and the Liz Lermon Critical Response process.

• Ballet, Pointe, Variations- Focusing on an anatomic approach to ballet technique, guiding students’ artistic expression that begins at the barre and continues through reverence.

Project Motion (Memphis, TN) 2015

• Modern Technique- Combined modern dance vocabularies based in Horton and Release Techniques in a workshop for intermediate and advanced adult students.

New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (New Orleans, LA) 2015

• Modern Technique- Taught 40+ high school dance students Horton based warm up and combinations across the floor that culminated into work-shopping a detailed movement phrase.

Ashani Dances (Seattle, WA) 2014

• Company Class- Lead the company warm-up class twice a week. • Rehearsal Director- Taught and cleaned repertoire, and in interpreted the director’s notes to dancers.

Patzius Performing Arts (Saint Louis, MO) 2010-2011

• Modern Technique- Focusing on the Lester Horton technique, adding contraction and release exercises from Joyce Trisler and spirals from Martha Graham.
