About Factory

JSC “Agaras” was founded in 1991. First cattle were bought in 1992 years and then an export started. JSC “Agaras” has been slaughtering cattle since 1994, at first – only fifteen cattle were slaughtered a day. Then, in 1994, production began in newly reconstructed slaughterhouse and then, in 2002 – 150 cattle and 200 pigs were slaughtered a day. JCS “Agaras” has participated in SAPARD support program and after winning it – made a contract for a new slaughterhouse with sanitation equipment construction. In 2003 years, this project was finished and new slaughterhouse opened it’s doors.

Project LIFEThis project took place in

2007 year at JSC “Agaras”. To improve environmental safety requirements there was built a 4000 m3 liquid

waste reservoir and bioreactors.

Project BDPDuring 2007-2008 years JSC “Agaras” have successfully

completed a 8.7 million litas worth project according to BDP “Meat processing, freezing equipment

modernization, new garages construction.” New meat cutting hall was build during this project,

created new meat cutting line, installed new freezers, built new

garages for automobiles. In 2009-2010 years JSC “Agaras” participated in training project “Lithuania’s meat processing association member’s knowledge improvement.” All kind of professionals were participating in this project – company’s managers, salesman, slaughterhouse, meat cutting, logistic workers.

TraceabilityJSC “Agaras” uses german management system which logs all actions that are related to cattle slaughter, cutting, logistics. Unique identification number is assigned to each product during any operation, which helps to quickly trace where and who has done to some particular product. Right at the point, where cattle is being bought – it is assigned that unique number which is then saves in our identification number database. This unique identification number is then presented in label, bill of lading, and if necessary in any other documents. To sum this up – when client presents JSC “Agaras with such unique number, we can instantly provide all information related to that product.

ProductionCarcasses are made from Lithuanian cattle.

In 2012 were produced 6248 tons of beef carcasses, 2037 tons of pork carcasses and 3505 tons of boneless meat.

Export Since 1998 when JSC “Agaras” oriented main

business to production of meat, export turnover increased year by year.

From 1993 to 2011 JSC “Agaras” export turnover increased by 57 times.
