A Little About Me. . . A South Carolina native born & raised, I am very active in sports & the outdoors. I graduated in December of 2012 from Anderson University (SC) with a Bachelors of the Arts, focusing in English: Creative Writing.

Wanderlust A passion for travel & adventure, “I am in love with places that I have never been.” The travel bug has nested itself quite a few times. I have an enthusiasm to learn other cultures & the hidden treasures they have to offer. I found majority of 2015 spent in Germany, France, & Holland.

EducationA degree in Creative Writing has allowed me the flexibility to use multiple artistic abilities such as literature & journalism, coordination, marketing & branding, along with creating logos & design. This potential has allowed me the opportunity to pursue an array of careers.

Hobbies I enjoy cooking, the outdoors & participating in a variety of sports & working out. I was a collegiate athlete & still play indoor & outdoor volleyball throughout the year. On the weekends I enjoy fishing, kayaking, as well as walking or hiking with my dog,

JourneyAs a child I had always possessed a passion for arts & athletics.

Before college, literature & french were my two favorite subjects in school. I have always had a fetish for history- anything vintage is a rare & timeless gift.

In high school I was a three sport athlete, I also played tournament travel sports when the school season had ended.

This multitude of athletics prepared me to plan ahead & to never procrastinate. At a young age I learned responsibility, & was forced to coordinate my studies & sports schedule accordingly.

Athletics has molded & shaped me by teaching me how to follow instructions & how to work well with others in a team environment. These characteristics have been valuable for my future.

Anderson UniversityMy journey began as a colligate athlete with a focus in Creative Writing at Anderson University.

During my undergrad in 2012, fellow colleagues, along with myself had a professor suffering from ALS. As a graduating senior class, together we planned three benefits at different venues to raise funds for our English Professor.

Attending a liberal arts school also means putting together student showcases of individual works & accomplishments throughout the semesters for individuals whom have illustrated distinct talents.

An art & literary journal, Ivy Leaves was organized & published in the Fall/Winter semester of 2012 & continues to be a successful student journal today.

Life After GraduationAfter graduation from Anderson University, I moved to Newnan, Georgia in March of 2013.

I began an internship in April at the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau in Atlanta. It lasted six months, ending in August 2013.

After my internship, I decided to return to my athletic roots & coach volleyball, instructing individuals on the sport. I coached teams & individual lessons.

In 2015 I decided to build my resume by adding volunteer work with Odyssey Charter School located in Newnan.

From January through March 2015 I helped organize a fundraising event for the school, called the Southside STEAM Expo. My tasks was to secure businesses the following fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art,

Math) for educational purposes.

The STEAM Expo helped to gain more experience in Sales, Event Planning, & Marketing. The expo was a fun & successful fundraising event that attracted a crowd of great multitude.

May through July, I volunteered my time to help manage & coordinate Odyssey Charter School’s concession stand at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta. The task was to sell food, snacks, & beverages during concerts & events at the amphitheater to raise funds for the school & individual students.

CurrentlyMy current position is a Food & Beverage Coordinator at the Scheduling Institute.

My duties as a coordinator include maintaining the training center food & beverage equipment. Manage, guide & communicate with training center caterers & cleaners. I design buffets & afternoon break decor, along with undertaking & completing other daily tasks.

I have been with the Scheduling Institute for nearly a year. During this time I have been helping where needed, from temp work, as well as a coordinator. I reset conference rooms for future events, along with special requests for companies renting out the venue space. I also plan & coordinate deliveries or complete the shopping for upcoming events.

In Fall of 2015 I collaborated with an Event Leader & revamped the entire buffet to a common rustic theme throughout the Training

Center. Rustic decor was used to decorate the buffet bar, items like food caddies & mason jars. While inside the conference rooms, items such as frames & neutral flowers were used as garnish.

Along with these changes, I was also asked for new theme buffet ideas, so I created a portfolio with a variety of concepts.

I have also developed a system in which ordered goods, food & beverages were documented by expiration date, making it easier to locate these void items. This development has helped configure what items clients were not fond of, allowing a discontinuation of this specific item to save money.

Because the Scheduling Institute is transforming & expanding, the events have altered as well as the company. I have been asked to fabricate menus, signs, & arbitrary templates, designing pieces to specific specifications depending on the event.

“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.”

My degree in Creative Writing is an artistic pursuit & allows a future career in the arts. This degree does not limit me to only English & Literature.

I not only possess the ability to write & edit from a journalistic perspective, but the potential to tinker in coordination (wedding & events), Creative Advertising, or Branding + Marketing design.

My outgoing & friendly personality allows me to work well with others & within teams, contributing & inspiring those around to stay enthusiastic & positive. I possess the potential to dabble in a variety of things, along with the ability to quick start on tasks. I have a passion for travel, organizing, & the endless challenge to learn.

Future AdventureI am looking to expand my horizons…

My degree in Creative Writing is an artistic pursuit & allows a future career in the arts. This degree does not limit my abilities to only English & Literature, but to tinker in a variety of fields. I not only possess the ability to write & edit from a journalistic perspective, but the potential to work in coordination, creative advertising & marketing, or branding + logo design.

I enjoy Creative Coordination, whether it is last minute details or decor to correlate an upcoming event. Or simply designing templates for marketing & advertising events.
