JOY Under Attack!

Why do we have trouble keeping our JOY?

We spend to much time listening to ourselves and not enough time talking

to ourselves!

Psalm 42:5 “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.”

We must Remind ourselves that Salvation

is based on Justification by Faith!

“But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”

Galatians 3:11

We must Remind ourselves what the

Purpose of the Sanctification process!

Isaiah 64:6

Psalm 73:3“ But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags”

“But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world”

Galatians 6:14

We must Remind ourselves why we have Trials and Temptations

of life!

““But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials”

Luke 22:28

Romans 8:17

“and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together”

We are family (Sons of God)!

“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward”

Genesis 15:1

Ten Reason for Joy!

1-His Salvation is our Joy!

“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit”

Psalm 51:12

2-We are the source of His Joy!

Ephesians 1:18

“the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints”

3- He has promised us Himself!

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5

4- We are a new creation!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”

2 Corinthians 5:17

CS Lewis “there are no ordinary

people” “you have never talked to a mere

mortal”

5- He is Faithful!

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful”

Hebrews 10:23

6-He offers us Joy!

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore”

Psalm 16:11

7-Joy is a Command!

‘REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS. AGAIN I WILL SAY, REJOICE”

Philippians 4:4

Jonathan Edwards

“Joy is not a mere option alongside worship. It is an

essential component of worship”

8-Our Joy brings God

glory

Jonathan Edwards

“This was a stunning discovery for me. I must pursue joy in God if I am to glorify Him as

the surpassingly valuable Reality in the universe”

Jonathan Edwards

“God’s purpose for my life was that I have a passion for God’s glory and that I have a passion

for my joy in that glory, and that these two are one

passion.”

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him

Hebrews 11:6

9- We are Eternal Creatures

So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. 48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”

John 4:46-54

But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, “Where is your faith?”

Luke 8:23-25

10- Joy Produces Rest

“For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said”

Hebrews 4:3

Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. 23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. 24 And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.” 25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. 26 Then He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither go into the town, nor tell anyone in the town”

Mark 8:22-26

PHILIPPIANS 1:21

FOR TO ME, TO LIVE IS

CHRIST, AND TO DIE IS GAIN.
