I love India, and once again this year I have a chance to show a few people her beauty. It’s a genuine pleasure to see travellers experience the joy, wisdom, peace and just plain fun of this magical country. Most people I have taken on these tours said that India touched their hearts in a way that changed their lives. They were transformed by meeng people who live in contentment. Can you imagine what it would feel like to be largely free from anxiety and busyness? Once you experience this ancient country, you will begin to understand the teachings of sacred wisdom that have developed over thousands of years. Each person has a their own reason for coming to India, and part of my job is to help you realise your desire. I love India, and once again this year I have a chance to show a few people her beauty. It’s a genuine pleasure to see travellers experience the joy, wisdom, peace and just plain fun of this magical country. Most people I have taken on these tours said that India touched their hearts in a way that changed their lives. They were transformed by meeting people who live in contentment. Can you imagine what

it would feel like to be largely free from anxiety and busyness? Once you experience this ancient country, you will begin to understand the teachings of sacred wisdom that have developed over thousands of years. Each person has a their own reason for coming to India, and part of my job is to help you realise your desire.

This will not be an outside-looking-in-tourist view of India. I have traveled extensively in India and have taken five groups there. I have learned, through trial and error, where to go and where not to go. This journey is designed for you to be initiated into

an entirely different way of life. You will have the blessing of visiting beautiful, ancient temples, attending joyous celebrations and ceremonies, joining in lively kirtans, and spending time with a rarely seen enlightened holy man.

“Thank you Steven for a most amazing life changing journey. I’ll never forget this experience.”

~ Bob Porter

What it will be likeMy assistant and I will take care of all the challenges and details of traveling. With everything taken care of, you can relax and immerse yourself in another world. You will be completely safe. From the time you arrive at the airport and are greeted by me or my assistant, till the time we say goodbye, you will be well taken care of. The food we eat will be at outstanding restaurants that have the highest standards of cleanliness and are sensitive to Western diets. And the food is incredible. No one has ever gotten sick with the food on these trips because we are very careful. Indians are known for their high level of service. You won’t have to carry your luggage because wherever we are there will be a porter to take everything for you. You will travel in a 5 or 6 seater air conditioned Toyota van. Indians truly enjoy serving so it’s a pleasure to travel there.

Although this will be a deeply spiritual trip, that doesn’t mean you’ll be uncomfortable. I have carefully chosen unique hotels that are known for their high standards of beauty, cleanliness, and hospitality. (Beware of discount journeys to India because you can end up staying in some very funky places.)

New Year’s Eve Tour December 27, 2019-January 7, 2020

On the New Year’s Eve tour, we’ll have daily sharing as a group so we canunderstand and support each other. Past travellers have reported that sharing the unique experience of India with others was one of the most satisfying parts of the journey. I’ve been trained to lead groups and I will make sure everyone feels included and their needs met.

The New Year’s Eve Tour is limited to eight participants.

“India isn’t for sissies nor the novice traveler. Her magic, her mystery and the incredible heart force she emanates made for the most powerful transformational journey of my life. I can not imagine having traveled there without the wisdom, knowledge and expertise in all things India that Steven so graciously brings

to the traveling table!” ~ Deborah Austin

These tours will be conducted by Steven Newmark, who holds a doctorate degree in counseling psychology. Dr. Newmark is the Director of American Yogi, a movie about India and Maharaj-ji, which Ram Dass called “inspiring.” Steven will share his knowledge of the culture, history and spiritual wisdom of India in daily presentations.

Our journey begins in the Capital city of India with an orientation meeting before dinner. We will be staying at a wonderful 5 star hotel in the tradition of the British Raj.The next morning Steven will share the basic principles of Indian spirituality in preparation for a visit to a powerful Hanuman temple in Delhi. Once there, we will be able to

participate in the rituals of the temple and experience directly how the average Indian relates to the Divine.

In the afternoon, we’ll have lunch at the Imperial Hotel where Gandhi and Nehru decided the fate of India’s liberation. There will be time for shopping and relaxation and then we’ll enjoy dinner at Dhaba, a unique and authentic Indian restaurant. After dinner, we’ll share about our first day in India.

The next day we will see the historical and cultural sights of Delhi. We’ll also visit Connaught Circle for lunch and for shopping-you might want to buy Indian clothes for our journey. The focus of these two days in Delhi is to experience modern India, get acclimated to Indian culture and come together as a group. In the evening we’ll have dinner at the iconic Taj Mahal hotel.

New Year’s Eve in VRINDAVAN Days 4-6

From Delhi we’ll travel a few hours to the holy village of Vrindavan, considered to be one of the main spiritual centers in India and the birthplace of Krishna. Here we will visit the Maharaj-ji’s Vrindavan temple, featured in American Yogi. Maharaj-ji is the Indian saint made famous in Ram Dass’s iconic book Be Here Now. This is a very powerful temple where we will meditate in Maharaj-ji’s room.

The next day we will visit the Bunki Bihare temple and join in the chanting at the Ickson Krishna temple. That evening we’ll begin the New Year by taking a boat ride down the Jamuna river and participating in a special Festival of Lights Arati on the banks of the river.

~ Mary Jo Belongea

Rajasthan days 7-10

Next we’ll travel to Rajasthan, the land of Kings, historic forts, colorful people, camels and elephants. Here we’ll stay at a hotel in a Tiger reserve.

Safe walks In the mornings in the reserve will be available for those interested.

The journey to India was Steven was life-changing! Meeting the Guru was an extraordinary experience of being in the presence of someone

who is more open and loving than anyone I’ve ever met.~ Robert Fisher

In Rajasthan, we’ll have the rare opportunity to visit an enlightened Saint, Shyam Sundar Das, (Servant of Beautiful Krishna.) Many of the past travelers said he wasthe most joyful and loving person they ever met. It is hard to communicate how rare and fortunate it is to be able to spend time with a holy man of his stature in a small setting.

Although it is impossible to know how you will feel in the presence of a holy man, being with him can take you into higher realms of consciousness. He will be available for questions, advice and personal spiritual instruction.

Jaipur Days 10-11

Our last exploration is the city of Jaipur, known as the “Pink City.” Jaipur is known for its many ornate royal palaces and forts and is called one of the most beautiful cities of India. We’ll lunch at Rambaugh Palace, visit the Amber fort, and do some shopping at the downtown bazaar. This is our last evening together and we’ll have a closing ceremony to help integrate your experience so you can bring it into your daily life.

Varanasi optional

There is an extension option. If enough people wanted to stay longer in India we could visit one of the oldest cities in the world and the holiest city of India-Varanasi. As the sun rises, we’ll take a boat ride down the Ganges river and see devotees lining the shores doing their morning prayers- an unforgettable experience. We’ll also meditate at an ancient Durga temple, receive a blessing at the famous Kaishi Vishwanat temple, walk the ancient streets of Varanasi and attend the evening Arati celebration on the banks of the river.

One of the greatest aspects of traveling in India is meeting the friendly, joyous, openhearted,

ever-smiling Indian people.

This Journey will be limited to a small group of 6-8 people. Self designed tours are available. Price to be discussed.

A few scholarships may be available.
