Gods plan of redemption begins Genesis 12:3 all peoples on earth will be blessed through You.which You have preparedin the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to Your people Israel.(Luke 2:3132, NIV84) 3 4. Gods plan of redemption begins The Lord had said to Abram,Leave your country, your people and your fathers household and go to the land I will show you. Iwill make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will makeyour name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those whobless you, and whoever cursesyou I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed throughyou. (Genesis 12:13, NIV84) 4 5. Abrahams walk with God Two things to watch for Gen. 12-24 Abram made great leaps of faith and was obedient. In times of doubt he tried to do things his own way which end badly. 5 6. The Bible history Does not gloss over peoples failures and weaknessesJust because something isrecorded in the Bible doesnot mean that God approves of it.Despite their weakness andfailings God still uses people to carry out His plan.6 7. Joseph ruler of Egypt: Genesis 39-50 When someone does right andtrusts God He rewards them for their faithfulness.Josephs honesty and moral courage result in prison.God used his sufferings tobring him into a position of power.9 10. Joseph is a type of Christ God used the sin of others and innocent suffering to bring about salvation for Josephs own people and many nations. Jesus was the innocent victim of others sins but through His suffering He gained salvation for all peoples.10
