A Glimpse... Each individual possesses unique gifts and talents, but how will they use them?

Last fall, I and a group of musicians were traveling in Ethiopia when we stumbled upon some girls foraging through garbage to survive. Compassion wed with conviction to inspire us to do something: to use our music (our only tools) to help build new homes for these abandoned families.

Extreme Poverty should simply not exist. In a world overflowing and abundance it is a travesty when starvation ends lives and garbage dumps offer the only refuge.

For the past 2 and a half years I have been living and volunteering in Herrnhut Germany. I volunteer full time with Youth with a Mission(YWAM), an international volunteer missions organization. YWAM is in over 160 countries and has 1,000 locations world wide. Every full-time staff member is a full time volunteer who pays for their own expenses and travel, receiving no pay check.

A Discipleship Training School is an intense time of growth and discovery with God! Unleashing people in their callings and dreams.

Next September I will be leading and helping to pioneer a DTS like never before. We will be running a school which will train and disciple artists from every medium to use their God given arts and abilities to change the world

Marriage of the Arts Garbage City Pick a Pocket

Pick a Pocket is a collective of artists using their arts to raise awareness and mobilize a movement to end extreme poverty.

Because we believe that extreme poverty should not exist in this world today. We want to see people in the western world taking a stand and bringing an end to extreme poverty.

Garbage city is a trash dump where 15 guys call home. They eat trash, sleep and live in garbage. There were as well 20 girls who would go after school every day to the dump in search for goods that could be recycled in order to have enough money to eat the following day. Last fall we started a “T-shirt house. Now the girls have a job sewing T-shirts rather than digging through trash! We are as well in process with establishing a Chicken Farm for the guys, so they no longer will have to call the Garbage dump, “home”.

Brhano lives in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, and for the past 16 years lived in a garbage dump. He eats trash, sleeps in trash, and lives in trash. It is the only thing he has ever known. He digs through trash every day looking for anything which can be sold, eaten, or recycled... and that is how he and 15 others survive. His dream is to have a chicken farm where he and the others can live, work, and go to school. Want to help his dream become reality? We need 15.000 Euro to buy land and establish a Chicken Farm...
