Greetings, Jones Family!

The 2014 Jones Family Reunion Committee wants to welcome each and every family member for a fabulous time at this year's reunion in New York City – which is our 30th Reunion. Imagine what New York has to offer. There is something available for all ages!The committee is excited to be hosting this reunion again. We had a great time in 2002, and are looking to top that time in 2014. We are working very hard to make this the best reunion yet! This time in NYC could be a great vacation, an enticing Valentine’s gift, or just a relaxing excursion with your family. The Jones Family Reunion New York committee has secured a discounted group rate for Motown the Musical. Your ticket reservation fee must be received by 3/14/2014 or you may not be able to attend with the family.

Current Reunion Information

Hotel:

This year’s reunion will be held at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel located at 811 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10019. It sits on the corner of 7th Avenue and 53rd Street in Manhattan.Located just a few short blocks from dozens of the most popular things to do and see, this hotel lets you save time and money by walking to the exciting theater district, world-famous art museums, great dining options, the best NYC tours and much more.

Room rate is $229+tax and fees/night as long as the code phrase “Jones Family Reunion Room Block” is used when making your reservation. You must book before 5/31/2014 to reserve this rate. Registration fees:

Early Bird special: If you send in your registration prior to 5/1/2014, here are the rates: Adults - $125; Children - $65. If the registration is sent after 5/1/2014, the Adult rate increases to $135. You can register online at the Jones Family Reunion website: www.alexjonesfamily.org.

Broadway Show:

If you are coming to New York, then you must see a Broadway show! There is nothing like it. This year we’vepicked Motown-The Musical as the feature Broadway play at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. It is the true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy's journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson and so many more.

To take advantage of the discounted group rates, we need a minimum of 15 people to attend the show. If you are interested in attending, you must submit your ticket money to the reunion committee by March 14th. The tickets we blocked will be available on a first come first serve basis. If you are not able to submit your money by the deadline, you can purchase the tickets through the box office or through the web site (http://www.motownthemusical.com) at a premium rate.

Pricing for Motown-The Musical:

$130 – Orchestra $80 – Front Mezzanine$80 – Rear Mezzanine$75 – Wheelchair + 1 companion (2 people=$150)

Airports:

There are 3 major airports in or close to New York City. We recommend that you fly into LaGuardia (LGA) or JFK Airports, however, Newark Airport (EWR) in New Jersey might have some cheaper rates based upon where your flight originated. LaGuardia Airport is 6 miles from the hotel, and JFK and Newark are about 13 and 11 miles away respectively.

Attractions:

As you know, there are countless attractions within New York City, and many are within walking distance of the hotel. The city that never sleeps has something to offer for everyone. We are planning a series of excursions that may appeal to all ages. Possible trips could include a city bus tour, a trip to ground zero, and/or stop at Dave & Buster’s. Stay tuned for further details to come.
