Where does your contribution go? Dollars raised through Circle of Red fund research, public and

professional education programs, and community service

activities.

So far this year, the American Heart Association has funded

more than $12.5 million in research in California. In 2008-2009

the American Heart Association awarded $6.8 million to

researchers in the Silicon Valley alone.

Your contribution helps increase awareness of the prevalence

of heart disease in women, killing more women than all forms

of cancer combined, through educational materials and

outreach.

What is Circle of Red?

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s

national campaign to increase awareness of heart disease -

the leasing cause of death for women - and to inspire women

to take charge of their heart health. The grassroots cam-

paign has since grown into a vibrant national movement as

more women, men, celebrities, healthcare professionals and

politicians embrace and elevate the cause of women and

heart disease. The year round campaign provides women of

all generations with tips and information on healthy eating,

exercise and risk factor reduction, such as smoking cessation,

weight maintenance, blood pressure control and blood cho-

lesterol management.

Circle of Red is an elite group of women and men who have

the passion and resources to significantly impact the commu-

nity by providing a personal commitment to help find a cure

for the number one killer of women.

A Circle of Red Member is an individual who can provide an

annual gift of $1,000 or more and is willing to engage their

friends to commit to a level of personal or corporate giving

(commitment is separate from a group sponsorship).

Circle of Red Members are invited to exclusive gatherings to

hear powerful messages from passion speaker and survivors.

Each gathering is hosted at a different locale and boasts a

fun and educational keynote speaker. In addition to educa-

tional events the Circle of Red will also be featured in local

print media associated with events, have a photo shoot, and

hold VIP seating to the Annual Go Red For Women Luncheon.
