GENERAL INFORMATIONCOURSE OBJECTIVESAt the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to develop a differential diagnosis for, assess and manage clinical issues that occur in the Emergency Department, Urgent Care Center or primary care office, including:

Implement the initial evaluation of neonates with potentially life-threatening conditions. Develop an approach to common and unusual pediatric illnesses encountered in the ED or office setting. Identify pitfalls in successfully performing minor procedures.Describe the presentation of and treatment approach to children with asthma. Utilize teamwork and crisis resource management principles to manage critically ill pediatric patients in an ED or office setting.Use pharmacologic agents effectively in pediatric pain management. Recognize the common and dangerous causes of abdominal pain in children. Develop a differential diagnosis for a child with an acute, severe headache.

ACCREDITATIONNemours is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Nemoursdesignates this live activity for a maximum of 20.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of theirparticipation in the activity. This course has been approved by the American College of Emergency Physicians for a maximum of 20.0 hours of ACEP Category I credit.
