MADDY BARTSCH is a fiber artist, educator, and sustainable fiber systems organizer with a focus on the costs and impact of textile consumption. She co-founded Three Rivers Fibershed, which works to create soil-to-soil fiber systems within strategic geographies, and serves as their director. Maddy teaches classes throughout the Twin Cities and grows natural dye gardens during Minnesota’s sometimes-finicky growing season. She will be returning for her third year of summer camp, focusing on sustainable fiber art techniques.

LAURA BURLIS is a sculptor and polymer clay artist who has studied and created art in Australia, Italy, and most recently Glacier National Park. Her whimsical polymer clay artwork has been featured in art shows throughout the Twin Cities. Laura is an experienced youth instructor, working with Girl Scouts, Courageous Hearts, and other organizations while sharing her passion for the art form. This will be the third summer Laura joins us, sharing her love of sculpting with youth!

ELIZABETH HARRINGTON originally taught herself how to spin yarn on a CD spindle in 2007, and that’s where her interests in fiber art blossomed. She is now skilled in spinning, dyeing, weaving, and felting. Elizabeth has been sharing this love of fiber arts with youth and adults since 2009.

JAIME GJERDINGEN is a skilled knitting and poetry instructor who has worked in the public schools for eight years. She is the founder of the Twin Cities based organization Lit Knit, which gathers community over the love of knitting.
