The Economic Development Board (EDB) MauritiusThe Economic Development Board (EDB) is a leading agency mandated by the Government to provide strong institutional support for strategic economic planning, promote Mauritius as an attractive investment and business centre, a competitive export platform as well as an international financial centre. It also acts as the main institution responsible for country branding, investment promotion and facilitates both inward and outward investment and fosters a conducive business environment.

The EDB is recruiting :

The Manager shall be called upon to promote the development of the particular sector/cluster (ICT/BPO, Creative Industries, Freeport, Manufacturing, Financial Services, and Ocean Economy amongst others) to which he/she shall be assigned.

As part of the its capacity building efforts to create a multi-skilled staff base, each Manager shall have the opportunity to rotate between sectors to enable a better understanding of the various sectors being promoted by the organisation.

Manager

Education:

Master’s Degree or equivalent from a recognised educational institution in relevant field of work

Work Experience:

10 years’ post degree qualification experience

Internal Candidates holding 7 years’ relevant experience together with significant achievement, could be considered

For all positions, the following competencies would be a pre-requisite:

Business Acumen - ability to grasp complex business concepts and knowledge of the local and international investment/trade policies

Planning and Organizing - ability to plan, direct, develop and integrate several activities/programmes

Teamwork - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and influence others within a team endeavour

Communication & Negotiation - Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

Judgment and decision-making - ability to make strong, sound and mature judgment and decision-making skills

Multi-tasking - ability to manage and coordinate several activities/operations and work under pressure
