The Future of Health – Day 1

Join us to hear about developments in digital health, genomics and infrastructure being driven by the UK.

Digital Health Workshop

With the NHS increasingly set to adopt digitally enabled models of care, join experts at a knowledge sharing session to explore key international challenges and leading examples of how technology is transforming care in the UK. Among our speakers will be Tim Kelsey, National Director for Patients and Information, NHS England and Prof Martin Gibson, Chief Executive, Northwest EHealth.

Genomics Workshop

This workshop will focus on the transformation of patient care which is being achieved by the NHS, academia and industry working together and discuss how opportunities can be seized and challenges overcome in realising personalised medicine, both in the UK and overseas. Among our speakers will be Prof Sir John Burn, Professor of Clinical Genetics, Newcastle University and Prof Mark Caulfield, Chief Scientist, Genomics England.

Infrastructure for Health Workshop

The workshop will showcase the possibilities of low-cost and high—impact design modifications that lead to better and safer care, faster recovery, and promote the importance of spiritual and physical well-being throughout the care journey. Among our speakers will be Catherine Simpson, Landscape Architect, HLM and Stephen Pimberley, Director, SPARK Architects.

The workshop sessions will be followed by a 1-2-1 meeting programme and GREAT Week VIP Reception.

Wednesday 30 September

The Future of Health – Day 2

Join us to hear about developments in dementia and regenerative medicine being driven by the UK.

Regenerative Medicine Workshop

This half day session will address the UK’s expertise in one of the most exciting, progressive and challenging areas of healthcare. Among our speakers will be Keith Thompson, CEO Cell Therapy Catapult and Prof James Shaw Newcastle University and Freeman Hospital Diabetes Consultant.

Dementia Workshop

This half day session will address the challenges facing dementia treatment, current practices and approach to comorbidities, and innovations to ensure early detection. Among our speakers will be Dr Jill Rasmussen, GP Lead for NHS England Dementia Team and Dr Eric Karran, Chief Executive, Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The workshop sessions will be followed by a 1-2-1 meeting programme and networking reception.

Thursday 1 October

Expo 2015

Visit Expo 2015 with fast track entry to the UK Pavilion. The Expo is themed on ‘Feeding the Planet – Energy for Life’.

Friday 2 October Free for own meetings and travel.
