Johnston High School Prom 2013 Saturday, May 4 th from 8:30 – 11:30pm Community Choice Conference Center at Vets Grand March: Johnston has a tradition called Grand March that students have the option of participating in as they enter the prom facilities. Students will be introduced to the audience so they can show off their evening attire. Students may walk down as a single, pair or group. Parents will be able to sit outside of the ballroom and watch students as they arrive and enter. This is an optional event and there may be lines at peak hours of entry. Minimal seating will be provided so parents may want to bring their own. Late arrivals are not guaranteed participation. Grand March ends around 10:00 pm. There will be a separate entrance for those who do not wish to stand in line for the grand march. Please follow the signs marked for the Grand March entrance and the non-March entrance. Directions: From Interstate 35 from the North: Follow I-235 West into downtown Des Moines. Take the 3rd Street exit (8A, Downtown Des Moines), stay right on the ramp and turn left onto 3 rd street. Turn right onto Crocker St (this will be just before Vets and Wells Fargo Arena). A parking lot will be on your right. Parking is $7 if you park in this lot. You may also park at any meter or in the city garages. Photos: Each attending student will receive a photo with the purchase of a ticket ($3 of your ticket purchase goes towards your photograph). This may be a group photo or a couple photo. There will be two photo bays available to minimize lines. You will pick up your photos in the attendance office at the High School once they are printed. Coronation: Prom King and Prom Queen will be crowned at prom. The court will be called to the stage at 10:00 pm and the King and Queen will be announced. Please arrive by 10:00 pm if you would like to cheer on the court! After Prom: All students attending prom as well as juniors and seniors not attending prom are invited to attend the after prom activities. This will take place at the high school. Students must arrive by 1:00 am and are not allowed re-entry.
