THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER
4 204
In today’s Gospel, Peter, who denied Jesus three times, is given the opportunity to express his love of Jesus three times. In turn, Jesus gives him a mission, “Feed my sheep.” Peter and the apostles are entrusted with the responsibility to nourish God’s people through teaching the Word of God and celebrating the life-giving sacraments and shepherding. Bishop Schlert’s motto is Pasce Oves Meas which is Latin for Feed my Sheep.
Throughout the Diocese of Allentown, we kickoff the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. This year’s theme is Because We Are Catholic. Last year, over 20,000 donors contributed more than $4.8 million to support our schools, parishes, Catholic Charities, clergy formation and ministries in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties. Our parish BAA goal is $44,385. This number is a percentage of our total weekly collections.
Our Diocese is committed to helping those in our community who are most in need. Your support of the BAA helps to ensure that you, your loved ones, your neighbors, and your co-workers have help when it is needed. Your gift is an outward sign of your faith in God and the work of his Church.
The BAA does not fund legal fees or the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program for victims and survivors of abuse. Through the BAA, the Diocese provides funding for a wide range of services and ministries which are larger than any one parish could support. By pooling our resources, we are able to serve thousands of children, adults, and families. Thank you for your generous support and prayers for a successful BAA.
As members of Our Lady of Mercy, we ask the intercession of Mary, our spiritual mother, to inspire us to living the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
Have a wonderful week! Fr. Keith
P. Keith

Every child is taught the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be when they are young. But the
Church has a treasury of prayers from her tradition. Each month we would like to highlight a specific prayer and invite you to pray it each day or even to memorize it where it will be secure within
your memory.
Prayer For the month of May
Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our
hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee
do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn
then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this
our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

vida, dulzura y esperanza nuestra.
vuelve a nosotros esos tus ojos misericordiosos,
Oh clemente, oh piadosa, oh dulce Virgen María. Amen.

St Jane Frances de Chantal School - A Catholic
tradition in academic excellence. SCAM ALERT
Bulletin announcement:
The Diocese of Allentown is alerting parishioners about an apparent scam. In the last
week, several people from several different parishes have notified the Diocese that they
received a text message on their cell phone from someone pretending to be a Diocesan priest asking them to purchase gift cards for him.
These are not legitimate requests and are not from a Diocesan priest. No Diocesan priest will
ever solicit funds by text message. The Diocese is not aware that anyone has fallen victim to this scam. But it does want to remind
everyone if you are concerned about a text message you receive, always verify it before you
take any action.
