The Quality Engineer’s role is to develop, implement and maintain Product Quality Systems in all areas of manufacturing and associated services, to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. This is achieved by providing functional and visual quality information to enable Suppliers, NPD projects and manufacturing departments to understand the quality criteria and to assemble or manufacture products to the correct and agreed standard in conjunction with customer requirements. The role holder is also responsible for conducting root cause analysis and co ordinating corrective actions in relation to non-conformances. Provide statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples. ABOUT THE JOB The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality from the supplier, manufacturing and customer perspective is to agreed standards and requirements; this is a hands-on position.

The Quality Engineer’s role is to develop, implement and maintain Product Quality Systems in all areas of manufacturing and associated services, to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. This is achieved by providing functional and visual quality information to enable Suppliers, NPD projects and manufacturing departments to understand the quality criteria and to assemble or manufacture products to the correct and agreed standard in conjunction with customer requirements.

Marketing) to discuss solutions to quality issues Ensure that the company complies with the RoSH, REACH Prop 65, CE regulations ETC, and to highlight

areas of concerns. Satisfying customer expectations about the product's quality Creating and controlling quality approval specifications in relation to product and process acceptability. Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and R&D to resolve customer complaints

and concerns. Creating production plans for new product introduction to guarantee quality from stage one Scheduling project plans along with the project team to fit project deadlines Writing update reports on design, pre-production, and production to check on the quality status of the

product at all stages of production and inform the rest of the production team. To help create a structure which will ultimately comply with ISO accreditation requirements Auditing materials provided by suppliers to assure quality before incorporation into the product Monitor supplier performance metrics. Assessing the product's quality by testing for a range of features and seeing how the product performs

under stresses like impact, temperature, humidity, etc. Investigating root causes of quality problems and proposing solutions utilising 6 sigma techniques. Training new Quality Control employees Utilising extensive knowledge of the product's inner workings to diagnose problems using root cause

analysis and CAPA philosophy. Continuing education on newly developing Quality Control techniques Review cost of quality KPIs Develop and submit PPAP documents for new product lunches to meet customer requirements. Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes.

Review and analyse results. With the support of the Engineering department recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.

Participate in the Product Quality Planning (APQP)activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new projects, tool or process design and start-up.

Coordinate pre-launch production trial run process monitoring. With the support of the Engineering department participate in the development of Failure Mode and

Effects Analysis (FMEA). Maintain Control Plans and FMEA's throughout the life of the part. Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis

and successful corrective action. Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements as the voice of the customers. Apply appropriate use of statistical techniques. Determine and apply appropriate Measurement System Analysis tools.

KEY TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Degree in related Engineering/Manufacturing discipline or HND Experience of developing, implementing and reporting on product quality standards in a similar

environment Proven experience in manufacturing processes with knowledge of manufacturing methods and

procedures. Auditing experience essential. Lean management / 6 sigma experience Regulatory compliance experience A strong eye for detail. Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong listening and analytical skills.
