MENTAL HEALTH INNOVATORS TAKING THE LEAD IN DYNAMIC COLLABORATIVE WORKING HUB

COLLECTIVE PURPOSE As the NFP sector are well aware, we are facing a changing and challenging time that also has the potential to provide opportunities. These opportunities come from the need to focus our attention on streamlining our services, providing efficiency and value for money as well as continuing to provide quality services while ensuring our sustainability. Having been inspired in late 2013 by the New Zealand Wise Group model, our three mental health lead organisations (MHA NSW now known as Way Ahead, BEING and ARAFMI) have been working collaboratively over the past 15 months on a Partners in Change initiative to develop a shared services model of operation. This involves managing the separate financial operations of the three current partners, and combining identified financial operations that can be effectively shared. This exciting project has now further expanded to encompass a new co-working office environment appropriately titled Collective Purpose. This hub will provide the opportunity for other like-minded organisations to join us in a contemporary state of the art work environment. A central priority of the Partners in Change initiative has been to create a dynamic working environment that will foster collaboration, innovation and provide a stimulating, inclusive working space where people will love to come and work and play. We have moved into our fantastic spacious, light-filled working environment at our previous office premises in William St Woolloomooloo. We have completed a total, very contemporary office refurbishment, together with a major upgrade of all our IT systems. The design has been very carefully planned and draws on the best of current thinking in flexible co-working spaces and includes meeting and training rooms that can be hired. Additional desk spaces are available for other like-minded organisations in the human services and social justice space to join us at Collective Purpose and take advantage of the modern facilities and the opportunities for collaboration. We truly believe that the collective whole can be more than the individual parts and together we can have greater impact.
