Salary FTE $95,000 - 98,999 + super (depending on experience)

Award Lead, Grade 1-2 (FYA Salary Framework), Award Equivalent Level 6,PP1

Role summary

YLab is a social enterprise that was founded by FYA in 2016. YLab offersconsulting and co-design services to organisations who are looking for betterways to design systems for young people. To do this YLab employs over 80young people across Australia (YLab Associates) with diverse lived andtechnical experiences to work on projects. YLab solves problems inemployment, policy and decision making, health and wellbeing and FirstNations issues, all by putting young people at the centre.

YLab is looking for someone to join our team and manage our community ofYLab Associates (a group of part-time and casual employees) and lead ourlearning and development program to ensure they are supported to developskills and capabilities to deliver YLab services and in a way that sets them upfor success in the future.

You will be a community builder and enjoy connecting people and ideas. Youwill have extensive experience designing and delivering work-based learningand development programs for young people. You will also have extensiveexperience as a consultant delivering work to clients. You will have extensiveexperience in co-design and consulting fields and understand the skills andcapabilities required in these contexts. You will be a masterful coach andunderstand how to motivate individuals to meet goals. You will have a proven

record designing dynamic and practical learning tools and practices that canbe embedded in the culture of an organisation.

- Strategic, skilled and collaborative team. You will be working closelywith a growing team of systems thinkers, social entrepreneurs,co-designers, First Nations designers, and consultants with diverse livedexperiences

What you’ll do

● Manage, foster and maintain a supportive and connected learning communityof YLab Associates (both online and in person)

● Implement and refine a learning and development program for YLabAssociates to ensure they develop skills in line with YLab’s offering including skillsin co-design, strategic consulting, research, facilitation, social impact strategy andmeasurement, cultural intelligence, entrepreneurship and systems thinking

● Design and implement a dynamic coaching program for YLab Associates toensure they are supported to achieve their goals

● Contribute to the design and implementation of onboarding, offboarding andalumni experience for YLab Associates

● Design and implement a review and evaluation process to assess YLabAssociates skills and work and provide meaningful feedback

● Work with the YLab core team to coordinate the shared coaching of YLabAssociates on projects

● Provide individual coaching to YLab Associates in line with the learning anddevelopment program

● Deliver and coordinate regular group training and coaching sessions for YLabthat give individuals across the YLab network the opportunity to develop skills

● Build the capacity of the YLab team to coach, develop skills and assess skills inYLab Associates

● Input into the development of new learning and development products forYLab

● Other duties from time to time.

Who we’re looking for

● At least 3 years experience in designing and delivering learning anddevelopment programs or work-based training programs - bonus if thisexperience is with young people

● Experience delivering coaching and mentoring to young adults to developskills in some (if not all) of the following:

○ Strategic consulting,○ Research and report writing○ Social impact strategy○ Co-design○ Facilitation○ Cultural intelligence and

○ Systems change● Experience as a consultant in a fast-paced consulting environment managing

multiple projects and stakeholders● Experience in co-design with a focus on delivering client facing projects● Experience in working with young people from diverse lived experiences

and cultural backgrounds and incorporating these experiences into work● Strong experience in project management across a complex and dynamic

team environment

You’ll also have:

● Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to get thingsdone by influencing others and building trusting relationships

● Ability to problem solve and take initiative to design inclusive solutions● A professional, collaborative and team based approach with the ability to

work independently .
