V. 10/6/17 Job Description: Associate of Business Development Reports to: Vice President of Business Development Full Time Position Responsibilities: Assist with the implementation of the business development program of the Central Florida Development Council for the purpose of recruiting new businesses to Polk County and helping existing businesses expand Assist marketing Polk County, Florida as a premier business destination and location Assist the business development team with site selection, site tours and other economic development programs Develop in depth knowledge of real estate and location assets Help respond to requests for proposals (RFP) Prepare research reports and gather data Develop and manage lead generation networks including local real estate professionals, site selection consultants, targeted trade sector business decision makers, industry representatives, trade associations, partners, government leaders and other state and local agencies Document business interactions and activities in the CRM system Assist with website and other marketing material development, including coordinating targeted market campaigns and preparation of material for such efforts Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from accredited college or university Minimum one to three years of professional experience in economic development or related field Knowledge of real estate, sales, marketing, engineering and other related subjects helpful Skill in establishing and managing effective relationships with business and community leaders Skill in preparing technical information and attention to detail is a priority Experience in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Polk County resident or willing to relocate to Polk County within 6 months Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driver’s record Compensation and Benefits: Annual salary range $52,000 to $58,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications 100% employer-paid insurance for employee Retirement plan with company match Mileage reimbursement for approved travel Mobile phone stipend for business use Annual stipend for professional development Annual paid time off (PTO) Please send resume and cover letter to Jennifer Taylor, VP of Business Development: [email protected]
