• It gives a traumatic experience, but it is still a common practice.
• Employee may be discharged due to unsatisfactory performance(persistent failure, not properly skilled for the job).
• An employees is discharged when it is clear that he/she has no potential to improve over the job.

Major causes for dismissal includes:
• Indiscipline• Insubordination• Dishonesty• Misconduct- Willful
violation of organization’s rules and regulations.

RETIREMENT• Majority of
separation of employee are by the way of retirement.
• Organizations should help an employee to adjust himself after retirement.

Types of RetirementRetirement may be of the following kind.
• Compulsory Retirement.
• Forced Retirement.
• Premature Retirement.

Compulsory Retirement:
• In this retirement is compulsory after a specific age.
• In central and state government the retirement age is 60.
• In private organization the employee can work as long as they are suitable to do work.

Forced Retirement:
• If an employee is found guilty, or violated the condition he may be forced to retire without benefits and although he hasn’t attained the age of retirement.

Premature Retirement:
• If an employee becomes disabled, or has some disease, he may be given retirement by management before his retirement age with full benefits of retirement.
