JKSimFloat is a powerful process simulation tool built around industrial-strength models developed at the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre. JKSimFloat integrates tasks associated with data analysis, plant design and optimisation as well as circuit simulation focusing on sub-processes within the flotation process. It provides a single platform that combines both the ore and the machine characteristics to predict the recovery and grade of the product.

The JKSimFloat package is designed for plant metallurgists who wish to apply process analysis techniques to characterise plant performance for optimisation purposes, and design engineers who wish to assess design alternatives.

JKSimFloat is a general purpose computer software package for the simulation of flotation plant operations. The package is designed to service the diverse needs of plant and project metallurgists, design engineers, researchers and consultants.

Dr Thu Nguyen spent her early career at the CRC for Black Coal Utilisation working on the evolution of fuel nitrogen during the initial stage of coal combustion, before joining the AJ Parker CRC for Hydrometallurgy where she was awarded her PhD. Thu has a background in specialist flotation analysis, research

and development of steady state models and simulation flotation circuits.

Currently a Flotation Specialist at JKTech, Thu undertakes flotation modelling, benchmarking and optimisation projects, process mineralogy and liberation analysis. Thu also delivers global training in JKTech’s specialist simulation software, flotation equipment and as part of JKTech’s MetSkill Program.

This course is suitable for metallurgists or engineers who wish to understand the principle of flotation modelling and apply process knowledge to analyse and optimise the flotation cuircuits by simulation.
