Korea has overcome the vicious cycle of poverty via economic expansion and growth since the 1960s

Current Status of QOL in KOREA

Korea’s current economy size is 13th in the world, and overall standard of

living has been improved.

However, the priority of driving is still focused on the economic growth and export, and QoL of people has been overlooked.

※ GNI/person : (‘60) 79 $ → (‘95) 11,432 $ → (‘14) 28,180 $

Radiation Therapy Dosimetry

25 MV electron LINAC system

Purpose and present status

• To establish national standards of water absorbed dose for radiation cancer therapy

• Construction of KRISS electron linear accelerator (LINAC) building has been completed

• A 25 MV LINAC has been installed in the building. Acceptance test and commissioning of KRISS LINAC have been carried out

• Precision micro-calorimetry system is being designed for the absolute dosimetry of LINAC radiation beam
