An award-winning software development leader, I design solutions that improve cross-platform methodologies. My database experience includes applications for legacy systems, AS/400, PC-based (dBase and Access) and SQL Server environments. My diverse industry experience includes data services, software, healthcare and sports.

I am known by management, peers and customers as one who is detail-oriented with exceptional technical writing skills. With accolades as an application subject-matter-expert, I have managed multiple systems concurrently. I solve complex problems with simplified solutions. I work well alone or as a strong team member.

CAREER HISTORY & SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Reporting Specialist, Disney, 2012 to 2016. MS SQL Server and Oracle queries; MetricStream EGRCP Infolets and reports; Service-Now ticketing system. Create/Maintain SQL reports in support of department users. Work with department personnel to gather reporting requirements. Monitor ticketing queue for relevant user issues.

Application Developer Specialist, Dell, Inc., 2005 to 2011. IT outsourcing healthcare division. Promoted from Application Analyst and FSO Operations Desktop Support positions working at Dell client sites: Catholic Healthcare West and Stanford Hospital. Member of applications team supporting multiple systems. Designed reports for customers and teams.

Reduced errors, automating system. Catholic Healthcare West, Dell client, needed to visually monitor screens for system errors relative to lab processes, which delayed work until resolved. Using VBA, wrote script to monitor systems and automatically take corrective action. Reduced error calls/tickets in first 30 days 95%, from 900 to 50.

Developed application reducing processing time. Selected to assume tasks in process for Dell client, Stanford Hospital, and needed to identify settings of laboratory system printer ports. Compiling information historically took three hours. Automated procedure reducing processing time to 15 minutes.

Improved data acquisition. Dell’s client, Catholic Healthcare West, needed cleanup and tuning on all in-house PCs. Wrote application that could be run on each PC, gathering all information and eliminating duplicate entries and processes. Reduced reporting process time for management 50%. Improved speed of data collection 20%.

Reduced technician time for PC enhancements. Catholic Healthcare West was preparing for lockdown of all PCs to make them accessible within clinical restraints. Created VB application to perform all tasks from single menu and record status to central file. Completed tasks, realizing 30% performance increase for implementation.

Programmer / Analyst, Los Angeles Dodgers, LLC, 1998 to 2004. Liaison between MIS and Baseball Medicine, Baseball Business and multiple front-office departments. Managed PC platform using MS Access and Java. Coordinated with trainers in LA and worldwide. Co-created medical inventory system using Java. Wrote and supported SMARTS system, used by medical staff to track players’ injuries, treatments and other medical data.

Improved processing time. Employees received free tickets to home games, which required going to ticket office, finding names and filling out envelopes for each guest, complicated by additional work on game-day. Volunteered to implement application using Access. Successful program became standard for requesting tickets, reducing work in ticket office from three hours to one, streamlining process.

Network Administrator / Warehouse Supervisor, US Sales Corporation, 1991 to 1998. Mail-order warehouse facility. Supervised warehouse inventory personnel. Provided guidance to management for computer-related issues. Local administrator of NetWare LAN supporting five warehouses in four cities. Managed seven warehouse / inventory personnel.

Streamlined inventory / transfer process with new application. Upon hire, discovered clerk was spending 3-4 hours / day going through list of item transferred from warehouse to fulfillment, matching shortages where necessary. Wrote TurboBASIC program to resort and reprint report by line locations vs. item name. Reduced time to 20 minutes.

PC Programmer II, Eaton / AIL Incorporated, 1987 to 1991. Aerospace manufacturing firm. Developed MIL-spec compliant inventory system for manufacturing line using IBM Application System software on AS/400. Supported Materiel Department’s needs on PC with spreadsheets, graphics and programming. Served on TQM Board.

Improved access to information and graphics. Employees struggled with Lotus 123 spreadsheets due to limited data capacity and graphics options. Suggested change to product QuattroPro. Department adopted QuattroPro for all employees, solving file problem and providing options for attractive graphics.
