which reads Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryohoand translates into Usui Reiki Treatment

Method to Improve Body and Mind. It is a non-religious healing techniue !ounded and

developed "y Mr.Mikao Usui.*#$%&-#'(%+ Be!ore the )econd *orld *ar+ it,s said that there

were more than a million practitioners here in apan. !ter the war+ in the process o!

moderni/ation o! the country+ Reiki seemed to have disappeared. 0owever+ it had "een spread

to the *est and since #''1s it has gradually "een regaining popularity in apan.

Dr. Chujiro Hayashi+ one o! Mr.Usui,s prominent students+ contri"uted to "ring Reiki to the

*est. It was spread through his student Ms. Takata who lived in 0awaii at that time. 2r.0ayashi

also taught Reiki to numerous students in apan. 3ne o! them was Mrs. 4hiyoko 5amaguchi.

)he learned Reiki directly !rom 2r.0ayashi in the late #'61s and practiced it throughout her li!e.

In the late #''1s+ her son Mr.Tadao 5amaguchi started teaching Reiki "ased on 2r.0ayashi,s

Reiki seminars his mother 4hiyoko participated a"out 71 years ago. Tadao 5amaguchi has "een

making great e!!orts to pass down this great legacy o! healing method to those who wish to

learn.

Reiki is an art o! energy healing. It works !or "oth physical and psychological sides o! health "y

reactivating the natural healing a"ility that humans originally possess. Reiki treatment is

carried out "y a practitioner 8channel9 who receives Reiki energy !rom the Universe. *ith simply

laying hands+ the practitioner transmits the energy onto the receiver. Reiki is "ene!icial not only

!or those who are in poor health to recover "ut also !or healthy people to maintain good health.

*ho can "ecome a Reiki practitioner:

nyone can. ll humans possess the a"ility to give and receive the energy !rom the Universe.
