    Status Report of the Junior Health Workers

    Accomplishment Report for the JHW ProjectFor the Period of February 2008 to May 2008

    I- Direct Field Service Accomplishment

    For the period of February to May, 2008, there were 20 JHWs whoreported who were able to administer 26 first aids. This includes treatment of usualwounds to extreme wounds. Some of those who were treated got wounds on their head,foot, finger, legs and hand. There were 8 JHWs who gives first aid to the players whogot muscle sprain during the sportsfest and mini-olympics last May 24, May 31, and June02/08, 2008. The 12 JHWs reported to administered first aid to the participants during

    the Level-Up Camp at Los Baos Laguna last June 4-6, 2008. Most of the clients gotwounds on their foot, fingers, legs and other parts of their nails due to some challengingactivities. Their were clients who got sick during the activity thus they were assisted bythe JHWs and given them medicine. There were 26 clients out of 100 participants whowere administered by the JHWs during the camping. These clients also involved adultswho got wounds during the challenging activity.

    II- Primary Health Care Sessions

    The primary health care session were conducted by the JHWs to their respective barangays. JHWs were divided in each barangay depending on the higher

    number of the participants and JHWs in the barangay. In barangay 849, there were 3JHWs who gives the primary health care session to 19 participant ages 7-12 years old.Barangay 844 also give session to 15 children with the 2 JHWs. The 4 JHWs inBarangay 853 also give primary health care session to 20 children. Barangay 850 with 3JHWs also given primary health care session to 15 children. The xtopics they were giveto the participants are the following, personal hygience, first-aid treatment such as burn,different kind of bites, etc., and dental care and treatment.

    III- Area Meeting

    Last March 09, 2008, JHWs were invited to join the meeting of

    thechildren and youth meeting were they were involved in the planning for theforthcoming activities such as sportsfest and mini-olympics. The officers of the childrenand youth has asked the JHWs to assist them during this activity to give first-aid in caseof bad condition of the participants. Another meeting was conducted last May 05, 2008with JHWs to plan out about the primary health care session which was alreadyimplemented but some were on going. It was also discussed about their roles for theLevel-Up Camp.

    IV- Trainings and Seminars Attended

    1 JHW who joined the BCYA Point Person and Youth FacilitatorsTraining which was conducted last February 23-26, 2008 at Batis Aramin, Lucban

    Quezon.

    There are (20) JHWs participated in the summer sports fest and mini-olympics sponsored by Sun for All Children last Mayn 31 and June 2, 2008 at DapitanPool and Rizal Stadium. One (5) JHW assisted the players in the said activity. 3 JHWsassisted the players in Basketball and volleyball tournament last May 24, 2008 to June08, 2008 at Brgy. 824 Canonigo St. Paco, Manila.

    Seven (7) JHWs attended the Youth Forum on Love, Courtship, andMarriage last March 15, 2008 at PLPDC with the resource person Mr. Lino Mosinobre.

    Twenty seven (27) JHWs have participated in the LEVEL-UP Camp lastJune 4-6, 2008 at BSP Grounds, Los Baos Laguna. This activity were in partnershipwith the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Manila.

    There were fifteen (15) JHWs who attended in Basic Leadership Trainingactivity which was incorporated during the camping.

    There were JHWs who involved in the organizational capacityassessment using the Spider Web tool of the BYC and Youth Core Group last April 20,2008.

    V- Others

    There were JHWs who volunteered at the FCED Office in filing some of the office documents.

    There were JHWs who actively joined the regular meeting of theChildren and Youth Program since they are also member of the said association.
