NOTE FROM THE EDITORIAL TEAM Dear Readers, JGRV is the story of a heartfelt desire of a few likeminded individuals who wanted to do some kind of service to the local community of economically challenged children who had no means for even basic primary education. A school called Sree Veena Vidyaniketan was born in June 2000 in a modest 10/10 carpentar’s shed with 9 children and 1 teacher but which has grown into a movement of 695 children, 32 teachers, 3 office staff and 16 helpers. The school was successful in getting a piece of land allotted and was able to purchase the land by the generous contributions of individuals. It was later renamed as Jaigopal Garodia Rashtrotthana Vidyalaya in honour of the philanthropist & educationist who contributed 1/3 rd cost of the building funds. But more anything, this school has grown into an army of hundreds of volunteers and dedicated donors and contributors. This school completely relies on contributions of generous donors and individuals to keep the cost of education low and affordable. The school provides an opportunity for service to all the volunteers associated with the school and an opportunity to contribute to a good cause to all the donors. Your support has been key in this success and we take this opportunity to thank you! This Newsletter was launched in January 2006 as an attempt to keep all our donors and well wishers who have kept the JGRV school running updated about the latest happenings at the school and to report about the progress made by the children. This Newsletter has acted as a thread that has kept everyone together and will continue to do so for many years to come. The generosity of donors from around India and the world is crucial in making JGRV what it is. The support by individuals, foundations and organizations has touched many lives and transformed many children. We encourage you to continue your support to us - your support will make a difference.
