Luke 14:16 Then He said to him, "A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, 17 "and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, 'Come, for all things are now ready.' 18 "But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The Iirst said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.' 19 "And another said, 'I have bought Iive yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.' 20 "Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' 21 "So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.' 22 "And the servant said, 'Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.' 23 "Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be Iilled. 24 'For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.' " The Power of a Simple Invitation The core idea of this story is that, God is a God of invitation, and He expects people to respond to His invitation. One thing we see from human nature is rather than give people a =lat no, people usually =ind an excuse to avoid an invitation. Think about all the different invitations you have received and responded to in your life. So many pivotal points in our lives were shaped by accepting an invitation someone gave us. Think about the invitations you have given others, and the difference it has made in their lives as they responded to your invitation. The invitations of Jesus are not ordinary invitations. We must personally accept each invitation Jesus gives us or we will not experience the power of His invitation. There are over 1900 invitations in the Bible and every invitation from Jesus was supernaturally charged to change things. Matthew 14:28-29 And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." So He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. When Jesus says “come” He backs it up with everything inviting God into the situation can bring. The greatest key to open any door, is found the Bible. Everything begins with a simple invitation by a compassionate Almighty God. It is the way that every single person saw the beginning of any intervention or ful=illment of a promise. It is the default pattern that cannot be overlooked ever, and provides not only the breakthrough but also the protection needed during the process. It is so Simple… Simply Come, and involve God in any and everything in your life. The simplicity of it is what causes so many to miss it. The enemy wants to short circuit the process of Simply coming to Him as our resource because his only chance is to separate us from our best and highest source for every answer! This has been the greatest resource humanity has had available, God standing by ready to intervene the moment a human simply comes and calls out for the Almighty to be their Almighty. Jesus invites us to come and fellowship with Him. Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink—even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk—itís all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen, and I will tell you where to get food that is good for the soul! Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake. I am ready to make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the mercies and unfailing love that I promised to David. Isaiah 55:1-3 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Rev. 3:20 The one responsibility we have to God, is to come when He calls us. Core Point: It is an amazing thing to realize Jesus Himself gives us invitations to come to Him. We should clearly hear His invitations to us, and respond with eagerness to come to Him. We will then experience the power and joy of those who know the power of divine invitations! Core Statement: I hear clearly and respond fully to the invitations of God. I am one who knows the life changing power and joy of responding to the Divine invitations of God for me!

ThePowerofaSimpleInvitationThecoreideaofthisstoryisthat,GodisaGodofinvitation,andHeexpectspeopletorespondtoHisinvitation.

Onethingweseefromhumannatureisratherthangivepeoplea=latno,peopleusually=indanexcusetoavoidaninvitation.

Thinkaboutallthedifferentinvitationsyouhavereceivedandrespondedtoinyourlife.Somanypivotalpointsinourliveswereshapedbyacceptinganinvitationsomeonegaveus.

Thinkabouttheinvitationsyouhavegivenothers,andthedifferenceithasmadeintheirlivesastheyrespondedtoyourinvitation.

TheinvitationsofJesusarenotordinaryinvitations.WemustpersonallyaccepteachinvitationJesusgivesusorwewillnotexperiencethepowerofHisinvitation.

Itisthewaythateverysinglepersonsawthebeginningofanyinterventionorful=illmentofapromise.

Itisthedefaultpatternthatcannotbeoverlookedever,andprovidesnotonlythebreakthroughbutalsotheprotectionneededduringtheprocess.

ItissoSimple…SimplyCome,andinvolveGodinanyandeverythinginyourlife.Thesimplicityofitiswhatcausessomanytomissit.

TheenemywantstoshortcircuittheprocessofSimplycomingtoHimasourresourcebecausehisonlychanceistoseparateusfromourbestandhighestsourceforeveryanswer!Thishasbeenthegreatestresourcehumanityhashadavailable,GodstandingbyreadytointervenethemomentahumansimplycomesandcallsoutfortheAlmightytobetheirAlmighty.
