Provide an artistic description of the work you are propos-ing to present:Jerus Nazdaq is a musician and DJ that gained a certain underground notoriety in Toronto. She is an electronic DJ and track selector, with varying styles ranging from dubstep, bass, dubreggae, psychedelic techno, and complete mash-ups often tinged with a certain tropical flavour. She often produces her own tracks taking elements from just about anywhere. She has played diverse parties, festival and events.

Provide an estimated duration of your work? A full-length set is 1 hour and 20 minutes long. She can eas-ily adapt the length of the set to fit the needs of the perfor-mance situation.

Tell us briefly why our event is an appropriate venue for your work or how your work fits the venue mandate:Canada and Brazil have growing cultural connections and relationships. This is visible in the cultural manifestations in cities such as Toronto and Montreal. Jerus Nazdaq believe in

the importance of international cultural exchanges. Music is one of the most accessible ways to foster this sort of ex-change and this is especially relevant in a festivals, parties and events environment. Tell us about who is involved?Jerus Nazdaq is an electronic music project of the singer, com-poser, multi-instrumentalist, music producer Jerusa Leão. She is a Brazilian Dj producer based in Toronto, which common goal is to create a cultural exchange between her music and the general public.

Have you presented this work previously, and if so when/where?Jerus Nazdaq has been involved with and presented by several promoters and electronic festivals based in Toronto and the area, including SUMA, Promise, CirQlar, OM Reunion Project and the Eclipse Festival in Quebec. She has per-formed with other presenters and organizations such as the Fedora Upside Down collective and the Uma Nota event series and their annual festival. In addition, she organized and promoted the PSK Collective Day in Kensington Market,

What is your overall budget, including your artists’ fees? Minimum purchase Prices listed are all presumed on a minimum purchase at the total amount of $300-1.000. Discount could be offered depending on the final purchase confirmation. *This does not include cost of transportation, accommodation and food.

and was a core participating DJ at the monthly Bass Culture events in Toronto. She also performed as a DJ at the Canadian New Media Awards for two years (2010 and 2011).

Who is your intended audience? Jerus Nazdaq’s intended audience are the people who love musical exchanges between different cultures.

Are there unions, organizations, collectives, etc. that you believe may be interested in co-presenting your work?Bass Culture Toronto, Uma Nota Festival, Opa! Nite and PSK Collective Day.

Describe your ideas for promotion, and mention how you currently promote our event?Currently Jerus Nazdaq has a solid following on social media websites such as Twitter, Facebook Vimeo and YouTube. She always use these sites to promote upcoming shows and events to encourage our fan base to come out and support our music.

Technical Rider for Jerus Nazdaq

Clubs, venues, festivals, corporate- & private parties:

A standard DJ setup with: >Soundsystem (speakers & amplifier(s)): high quality with sufficient power & headroom. >DJ mixer: professional quality from Pioneer, Xone, Denon, Dateq or similar. >Laptop Stand>Monitor speaker(s): one (or two) near the DJ setup, level controllable from the DJ mixer. >Microphone: dynamic (Shure SM58 or similar), connected to the DJ mixer. 

Please note: Jerus Nazdaq will bring a laptop with external controller/audio interface. Therefore She’ll need one free stereo input (line-level) 3 or 4 on the DJ mixer. Cables to connect this laptop setup she’ll bring herself. A free space of at least 80cm (w) x 80cm (d) is necessary near the DJ setup. The height should be around 90-100cm. 

Small parties (<100 people): On small parties Jerus Nazdaq can perform with just her laptop setup and do without the CD players, DJ Mixer and in some cases even the monitor speaker. However, she always needs a proper soundsystem! When this is not available contact her well before to arrange things
