LIFE EDUCATION VAN These class visits start Day 1 next term. Children who have their Starter Pack paid for are covered. If you have not paid the Starter Pack, the cost is $10 per child. A note will advise you if this is the case. Don’t miss out on this great experience.

THANK YOU! Thank you to all the organisers (especially Jaye Cox) and helpers at the Quiz Night – a great night was had by all! Also thank you to the donators of prizes – everyone went home happy!

DISCOS ON WEDNESDAY!

K – 1: 5 – 6 pm Yrs 2 – 3: 6.15 – 7.15 pm Yrs 4 – 6: 7.30 – 8.45 pm $5 per child pays for DJ and small treats.

VALUE THIS WEEK: CONSIDERATION – Be considerate of other at all times – others first, yourself last. People who think of others have many friends.

WE ARE SORRY YOU ARE GOING ~ WE WILL MISS YOU! We will be sad to see Mrs Mandy Leigh (2L) retire at the end of this week. Mrs Leigh has been a valued member of the school and executive team for many years but now wants to spend time with her own family. We certainly wish her a long and healthy retirement. Sadly, we also will lose Mrs Mel McLean (3M) as she moves to Melbourne where her husband has already been in a new position for many months. We wish her all the best and hope that one day

she may return. We also thank Mrs Linda Cheetham for her work as a School Learning Support Officer and wish her well in her new position. We will miss the contribution they have all given to our school.

MATHS ATTACK MAKES YOUR BRAIN WORK MATHEMATICALLY!

In a theatre Joseph is sitting in the 9th row from the front. This row is also the 15th row from the back. How many rows of seats are there in this theatre?

** Answers to Mrs Harradence by Friday in Room 1.

Correct answer last week was 1.082 kg (A). First winners drawn were Conor Mills (2T) & Daniela Forner (3R) TURNING CIRCLE AT END OF FIRETHORN PLACE Parents are reminded that Firethorn Place is an area where extreme caution MUST be applied. All due care MUST be taken at all times but especially when attempting a U-Turn. It would be the polite thing, and indeed the safest, if you gave way to all traffic, especially domestic traffic exiting that area. It would seem that some parents are in such a hurry to exit the area in the mornings that they don’t seem to worry about safety! By far the best place to drop off students is in Coachwood Avenue ON THE BLUE LINE. It is not far for students to walk across the school playground to their classroom. PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE

We have had a very busy time lately with many children completing the challenge. Well done to the following children: Natalie Pearson (4W), Trinity Strang (2T), all of 2E and all of KR. We have now as a school passed the 50 mark! With the Winter holidays coming up it is a good time to borrow some good books from the book lists and get some reading done. Happy Reading! ~ Mrs Harradence

Library News: 1. A reminder to all classes that borrowing continues this week as the holidays

are always the best time to read!

2. Book Club has returned to school and will be distributed just in time for the

holidays as well. Thanks again to Lisa Crampton and Kim Mullins for their

continued support.

3. Also, a big thank you to Anna Durkin who has covered more books for us this

year than I’ve had hot dinners. Thank you!!

4. Term 3 is book week term so the holidays may be a good time to start thinking about and working on

your costume.

This year’s theme is “Australia: Story Country”, so you may come as anything that is Australiana.

e.g. swaggie, bushranger, gold panner, cowgirl, Vegemite, Don Bradman, redback spider, lifesaver etc.

Alternatively you may choose any book character.

Let your imagination go!

5. We hope you enjoy the break, wash your library bag, start thinking of a book week costume and find

some time to read a few books!!
