Gary Vaynerchuk – Turning Your Passion into a Successful Business

(Reaction)

It’s Gary’s belief that if you don’t do your passion, your shit is going to be or stay broken. Not doing your

passion is like working in a stressful thing. He believes that if you care about your passion and do

whatever it takes, you have the chance to make it happen. If you despise working for the things that

doesn’t interest you, you’ll find all the corners to cut and constantly look for ways to distract yourself

from your work which leads to unpleasant result. You will get bored if you don’t really work on what’s

your passion.

If you’re not happy or you’re not doing your passion, you have time to do it at night. There’s a site called

Tumblr that’s the easiest blog platform to use… it’s probably harder to breathe oxygen than to use this.

Gary wants us to realize that we should all do what we really want to do.

Some people start their own business and use social media to advertise and sell their products and

services. We’re all building a brand one way or another and one of the best ways to do this word of

mouth. Word of mouth is the game. Social networking site like Twitter is one of the most powerful and

most important tool for advertisement. He says that if you’re not using it, you’re dead. You can have

fans with Twitter and it’s like a tool that communicates with the world. Gary also tackled a lot about

what do people should put on their Twitter, Facebook and blog. For him, it’s authenticity.

Another important thing to make the business beautiful is the “content”. Content is King. Marketing is

the queen. She runs the household. It is the heart of the business. If you’re selling content, it’s going

free. Marketers by the dozens are already showing people that they don’t need iTunes in order to make

money selling their info products/books etc. Musicians on a large scale are going to come to that

realization one of the days. Content is free but there is back end way to monetize eyeballs. Info products

are dead. Info is being passed around so free that you’ve got to understand what your “freemium”

business models are.

Gary also says that “Passion is the game”. If you’re pissed that you’re falling asleep, you’re winning. If

you not, it’s over; simple as that. He believes that even the biggest Garfield the cat fan could get paid

$100,000 a year, talking about how much they love Garfield and find ways to monetize eyeballs. If you

have a business model that doesn’t make you happy, you need to change it tonight.

The entire presentation is amazing. Even though Gary uses foul words that don’t suit the presentation,

he is indeed a very good speaker. He manages to catch the attention of the audiences and gives very

good examples. The presentation was great and worth watching.
