Jennifer Gutierrez was born
and raised in Queens, but
for the last few years, her pas-
sion has been working for
Brooklyn! After attending SUNY
Albany and working on cam-
paigns and with Dreamers in
Arizona, Jen returned to NYC and took a job with City
Councilmember Diana Reyna. When then-Chief-of-
Staff Antonio Reynoso decided to run to succeed CM
Reyna, he brought on Jen as his Campaign Manager,
and she led a strong ground game that took down
Democratic Party Boss Vito Lopez and propelled
Antonio to victory.
As of January, she is now Deputy Chief-of-Staff for
Councilmember Antonio Reynoso, handling communi-
cations, special projects, and organizing in Southside
Williamsburg.
NKD salutes her dilligent efforts and too-often-
unheralded successes!

With a legal career span-
ning over four decades,
Martin S. Needelman, Esq. is the
epitome of idealistic leadership
in North Brooklyn’s dynamic his-
tory. After getting his BA from
Brooklyn College, Marty went
on to get his JD from Boston
University and began his career
as a VISTA Attorney at Southside
Community Mission. Led by
a belief in unifying the often
rivalrous Latino and Hasidim
communities in Williamsburg,
Marty worked to develop housing as Chair of the Housing and Resource
Committee, Southside United Housing Development Fund Corporation
(Los Sures), from the early 70s until 2008. For his work in community
organizing, fostering collaborative projects and representing thousands
of low-income residents from being displaced, Marty was awarded the
“Risk Taker of the Year Award” in 1998 by the organization Jews for
Racial and Economic Justice. Marty has gone on to serve on the Board of
Nuestros Niños Child Development School, Community Board 1, Brooklyn
Bar Association, National Lawyers Guild and the New York State Bar
Association, among others. Since 1984 Marty has served as Executive
Director & Chief Counsel of Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A and in
this role he has trained hundreds of law school students and attorneys.

in New York City. As the Deputy
Campaign Manager to Bill de
Blasio, Emma built a political
and field operation that deliv-
ered a major upset and a landslide victory. Previously, Emma worked
as Chief of Staff to Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, the political director
of the Working Families Party, and as a key force in the election of a
Democratic majority in the State Senate in 2008.
The New York Times has referred to Emma Wolfe as "Bill de Blasio's
Secret Weapon." She is the political mastermind, progressive policy
architect, and profoundly decent person who will help ensure the suc-
cess of our progressive Mayor. New Kings Democrats is proud to be a
